Not wishing ill on Eddie Howe, but if Newcastle were to shed their manager, one of the best homegrown prospects would immediately become available to replace Desperate Dave at the London Stadium. If only.

I was banging the drum for Howe before he went to Newcastle he would of been a great fit and long term manager but we were playing some decent stuff at the time and it would of taken extremely brave owners with foresight something we don't have.

Eddie Howe. no thank you.

Thank you Mark. You’ve just confirmed how deluded you are. Desperate Dave in preference to Eddie Howe? Say no more. I rest my case.

If Pep Guardiola doesn’t take the job, my guess is Eddie Howe is destined to be the next England manager.

Eddie Howe, I don’t know this for certain. But I did hear rumours Eddie was offered the WH job previously but didn’t take this up. He did manage to get Bournemouth to play some good football beating us on many occasion. Once Eddie hit a poor spell he couldn’t turn the tide. Newcastle do have injuries issues currently, so do many other teams. I would say he is under performing at Newcastle, this window will be key for Eddie and his reputation. Would he be a better option than DM, short term yes but I wouldn’t say he is step up long term. He could well be the next England manager a battle with Jose I would presume to be on the cards come the summer.

Once moyes goes and the hammers go back to fighting relegation and not having to bother about European football taking up your midweek. Will constantly wanting moyes out still seem right. Moyes has taken the hammers into Europe at every opportunity and not always with the backing of the board. How many other managers lately have had west ham in Europe, won trophies? How many managers are hated by fans yet given them their only honours in over 40 years. Where do you think west ham should be in the league. Arabs and yanks have came into the premiership and spent top dollar and realised that its not enough and there are 20 teams in there with big wallets. The hammers by premiership standards have tight fisted owners who didn't want to splash the cash backing the manager yet any glory he gained is somehow theirs and not his. Bring in a big name who ever you want but unless there is a massive change in investment then i guarantee they will not give you what moyes has. People shouting their mouths about the gaffer like ray Winston who forgets he only plays hard men and is really one and the only link he has to football is he looks like a giant one as he is a fat b. Davie moyes has never complained yet gets crap all the time. If i were Newcastle i'd be serious about taking a guy who has his team in europe with no investment and see what ge can do with an open cheque book

I wouldn’t say that spending nearly half a billion pounds on new players wasn’t backing the manager! And to suggest that Desperate Dave never complains is just plain ludicrous. I have supported WHU since 1963 and I’ve never known a situation where a bad atmosphere between the supporters exists like it does today. Never before have WHU supporters hoped that we lose matches just to get rid of the manager like some have said. Never have we had a manager who refuses to accept responsibility, but publicly shifts the blame onto certain players or the supporters. Never before have we had a manager who openly has certain favourites and who refuses to give any player not in the inner circle a chance, including youth players. The sooner this awful man is history, the better.

For me, as a manager, the buck stops with him. If players perform poorly then its his job to motivate them into performing well, after all, it was he who wanted to sign the player. To come off the pitch after we've been smashed by FULHAM and publicly berate individuals is unacceptable in any sports environment and guaranteed to result in players being unhappy. You don't hear Jurgen Klopp or Pepp picking out individuals for criticism. They do it diplomatically.

And as Tin says, the way he treats players that he doesn't buy is appalling. Look at how hw treats Benrahma, its dreadful.

9.) 28 Dec 2023
28 Dec 2023 08:23:15
What do you want from the manager. Finishing further up the league or relegated

10.) 28 Dec 2023
28 Dec 2023 11:18:41
That’s ridiculous. Who says we’ll be relegated if Desperate Dave wasn’t in charge? It’s the same pool of talented players and we’ve seen what they can do without the shackles of Moyes to hold them back. Do you actually support WHU?

11.) 28 Dec 2023
28 Dec 2023 13:58:47
Tin legs if it was that easy why the 40+ year wait for a trophy. Did the other managers prefer scrapping it out at the bottom of the table over playing in Europe

12.) 28 Dec 2023
28 Dec 2023 14:30:21
The majority of us on this forum are not unhappy with where we are in the table, nor that we won a European trophy.

The issue that grates is the way we play. We probably have the best starting XI we’ve had in years, with an excellent front three in attack, yet our manager continues to play negative, concede possession football.

That is why there are so many who dislike Moyse.

Livibear,
Nobody said it was easy. It's called ambition. For the years I've supported West Ham, I've always wanted the very best for my club. I realise that we are not the richest, but there's always been a dream. You seem to be satisfied with a second rate, self-opinionated, nasty coach who, in many years of football management, has won one trophy in a third tier competition (I firmly believe any manager could have succeeded with that pool of players against weak opposition) and is satisfied to be manager of a mid-table team. That's why I ask if you actually support West Ham. (You didn't answer.) Before you start singing his praises about his European "record", let's wait and see how he does up against decent European opposition instead of goat herders and farmers. If we fail, it won't be the talented group of players we've got, but I bet he'll blame them. I have faith in my team, win or lose. Do you?

Tinlegs your sentence below.
“have supported WHU since 1963 and I’ve never known a situation where a bad atmosphere between the supporters exists like it does today. Never before have WHU supporters hoped that we lose matches just to get rid of the manager”

Total nonsense. I’m proud to go home and away games. Majority backing the manager yes style of play an issue at times and timing of subs.
Fans have bee annoyed mostly at the board.

15.) 28 Dec 2023
28 Dec 2023 16:51:14
Cholesterol overload,
You obviously don’t read posts on here and other forums, or read numerous WHU fan base articles, or watch WHU fan channels on YouTube, or listen to fans being interviewed when leaving games. Aside from that, over many years I’ve made numerous friends among WHU supporters with whom I remain in touch. It’s you who is deluded.

16.) 28 Dec 2023
28 Dec 2023 19:25:29
I’m deluded. WH won a trophy last season and we are currently 7th in the league and your non stop moaning about the manager and tactics and play buys makes you total sane.

Give it a rest Tinlegs. You spout a load of BS that’s all I seem to read on this forum.
You Go on like an old lady.

Self opinionated and nasty! What experience of him do you have to say this. Davie moyes comes across as an unassuming, no ego good guy.

28 Dec 2023 23:21:19
Semi Final in Europa Cup, Conference Cup Winners, consistently in top 10. We haven’t had it so good. Pellegrini was a ‘flair’ manager and was on the verge of getting us relegated! We have been lucky to have Moyse. I’d have another 2 years of the success we’ve had under his reign.

22.) 29 Dec 2023
29 Dec 2023 18:39:42
Can I just say that not signing a replacement striker for HALLER then SCAMACCA doesn't strike me as great management and before anyone bangs the board drum the board have backed MOYES with funds but he wanted MCTOMINAY and MCGUIRE and LINGARD apparently look how they are performing it's only STEIDTEN that came along and got us ALVAREZ and KUDUS, TINOS without those players we wouldn't be where we are know that's my opinion.⚒⚒⚒

23.) 30 Dec 2023
30 Dec 2023 02:25:17
Maguire would suit our style. As we play deep there would be little space, whereas, Man Utd are trying to play a high line which leaves areas empty and prone to attack. Maguire is a good Centre back, you don’t play for England if you are poor.

Livibear: “Self opinionated and nasty! What experience of him do you have to say this.”
Are you serious? My evidence is the numerous post-match and pre-match interviews where he refuses to take responsibility and shifts the blame onto named players or the fans. And wasn’t he fined £30,000 for threatening to slap a woman BBC journalist? Nice guy.
