Anderson, Haller, Vlasic, Diop, all players signed for big money. All players we are taking a hit on. Call it a £75M loss overall. That’s a seasons transfer budget. I’m astonished that people on here cannot fathom why we are cautious in what is, without question, a sellers market. If posters on here ran the recruitment drive, with suggestions like Eric Bailly, West Ham would have a similar balance sheet to Bury.

Here we go again. £17M BID for kehler rejected so we went back with another bid what a farce

Turns out psg want £16m and we actually bid between £8-10m lol

Don't understand the low ball offer when we are desperate for a decent CB, this guy can play right across the back 4, German international and we bid about 10 mil and sell Diop for 15 mil, sorry I can't get my head round that.

I don't think any team goes straight in with the asking price, the fact we are clearly desperate doesn't put us in the best position to bargain. Actually starting to think with Diop gone we need 2 CBs.

I actually don't think they know what they are doing anymore. We bid £8m find out they want £17m then bid again £10m for a player in a position we are desperate to fill, meanwhile we have players leaving and positions elsewhere still need to be filled but it's never going to happen whilst these clowns continue with the strategy they use

Unfortunately its the West ham way to approach with a very low first offer to test the water. Its the haggle that they love and its why our transfers take so long and Probably also the reason why we miss out on so many (coupled with the fact Dave Dithers around so long). Look at now. We need a CB (In fact we need quite a few) before the forest game because Johnson is not a CB as hard as he tries. What do we do? Approach a team like PSG with a ridiculous £8m for a £17m player and then when they say no, we go back with £10m and then next it will be £12m and then £14 etc etc etc. Why did we not at least go back with something near what they are asking, say £14m? And now we have asked EVERTON of all TEAMS about Micheal Keane? Are we that desperate because I don't rate him? Meanwhile, we still need players in numerous other positions and it seems like we can only focus on one position at a time.

We increased our bid to £10m for Thilo Kehrer and Sevilla have also now shown an interest in him. I Genuinely think our owners do it deliveratley so they can then say "Oh dear, we tried so hard and had so many bids in for players"? The size of our squad and how we need players in so many positions is making me start to be quite concerned about this coming season

Well they did sell a stadium, now maybe the plan is to sell all the players and just have the U23's.

Reports surfacing that West Ham have just made a laughable £10 million offer for Thilo Kehrer to PSG

10.) 11 Aug 2022
11 Aug 2022 14:34:24
Half the reports are rubbish anyway. I reas that PSG are looking to shift quite a few and Kehrer is in final year of his contract. Deal is there to be done.

I don't think it's even clear who the main CB target is at the moment.

We need to get a shift on. CBX2, LB, CM needed minimum. Another attacking player wouldn't go a miss. Lots to be done.

Hi mikesiron are you happy with finishing 10th or 12th place every year because I ain't and people on this site are entitled to their opinion and we got away with not replacing HALLER now we've sold a C/B and play a right back in front of a confirmed C/B in DIOP now for me even though I think DIOP always played as though he was going through the motions but come on he's a better C/B than JOHNSON can you please tell me under these owners who helped us out but then make silly predictions when they have overspent on players please mikeiron.

Please don't think I am having a go Mikes iron, far from it but your statement no wonder we are cautious doesn't ring true. Signing Vlasic for 30 mil, don't give him a chance and let him leave on loan with us paying most of his wages and a resale value of 15m is not being cautious its being stupid. Publicly blaming Benny and dragging him off when ever he makes a mistake so destroying his confidence and reducing his value by probably half is atrocious not cautious. Not giving the youngsters even a few minutes so they leave is not being cautious its down right stupid. Imagine being Okoflex and scoring 1 in 2 from the wing for U23's and not even given a few minutes, no wonder the kids are leaving, Oko will be next! Rant over.

Whorya48, I am not entirely sure what you are asking me. Am I ambitious for West Ham, yes. Do I believe we are a big club, yes. I was as excited as anyone seeing Anderson walk through the door at £42M. I was amazed he walked back out for, what was it, £3M? An extortionate loss.

Everything is in place for us to push on to the next level, incredible fan base, biggest stadium in London, these owners are fans and saved us from the brink, let’s not forget, finally - a decent team with what I consider to be the best young player in the world in Declan Rice.

I have seen us sell the best youth academy products ever seen in one team. Last time we sold the family silver in Rio Ferdinand, we wasted every penny. It was painful to trade in a genuine Rolls Royce for rubbish.

So yes, I advocate patience and buying the right players, with the correct attitude. I don’t want a 20 year old demanding to be our top earner on £135K when he started 11, yes 11, matches in an interior French League.

Some of you lot don’t know you’re born, we are close. This is the most difficult league in the world. Everything can unravel very quickly. I really believe in this manager and the team. I wish people on here could do the same.

I think because we have seen this before and its just the same old story. Spend the entire window chasing 1 or 2 targets, submit low ball offers which are never going to be accepted and then the player in question ends up going elsewhere. And now we have more competition because more and more teams want the same targets as ourzelves. We have less than 3 weeks to go and by my reckoning we have 14 fit firts team players. If you take Rice, Zoiuma and Bowen from our first 11 (and what happens if they get injured this week) then have a look at what we have left, its poor and would have problems in the championship. We have two major problems in our transfer dealings and its not good. Firstly, we never ever want to pay the asking price and always bid low and go back with multiple offers and in the end fail. Now as a player i'm thinking, do they really want me, or are they just after a bargain? Secondly we have MOYES who dithers and can't make his mind up so even if we get players lined up and deals almost agreed DIthering DAVE could still put the breaks on the deal. Now if Dave don;t like the player, why are we bidding in the first place.? Its simple, we need players and there are plenty out there at reasonable prices. We need a CB, so get SZALAI at £10m. Sosa LB at £17m. that's two crucial positions sorted for us. Bamba Diang can play anywhjere on the front line and is another decent price. These are all obtainable players so why is nothing happening and why are we chasing Micheal Keane We could have gone for damsgaard at £16m but no. Frankfurt are willing to listen to offers for Daichi Kamada but no? We spent the entire window on BROJA and ONANA and look how that turned out? In the end, the fans are disappointed in how we are dealing with taking our club to the next level and we can see as fans where this window is going and we don't like it. If we get this wrong we could well be bottom 3 at Christmas and easily relegated (see previous point ref RICE, ZOUMA dn BOWEN). We therefore have every right to moan, complain and say what we want because the way we are going this season is going to be a disaster

12 Aug 2022 09:52:39
I actually am accepting of other people’s views Daisy. However, where I get frustrated is when the moaners get it wrong. Diangana is a classic example. This guy can’t even do it in the division below. Yet there is little recognition that the majority of posters got that one wrong.

Everyone says Diop had lost his way; he leaves. Vlasic, poor all season, gone. Spent over £100M and looking for more. I do believe the club is doing its best.

Plenty of good things the club does that doesn’t get attention. Being the only club to reduce its cheapest season tickets to make top flight football available to the working man, as football should be, got very little media traction. Especially considering the recent headlines about the outrageous prices for pints and pies.

Hi Mike your mentioning one player in anderson we are very close to what I'll tell you what we are close to is not having positions covered you need a strong bench Mike not just the starting 11 we was playing LANZINI in a defensive midfield last season that's a complete joke and DM has no tactical nous to change a plan if your tactics ain't working the man has no plan b or c he plays one way and if that ain't good enough then so be it all he will do is keep us in the premier league and that for me ain't good enough he had HALLER and couldn't work out that he plays his best football in a w up top or a 3 I know he wasn't DM signing but come on VLASIC he wasn't given a run in the team,if your a playing coming on Mike for cameo 10 minute a me time her and there it is virtually impossible to shine give him a 10 game run in the starting 11 and play him in the right position not always asked to play where it ain't his strength and OKO-FLEX if your talking about tightening the purse strings or being patient I think in the grand scheme of things apart from a few mindless thugs who pelted SULLY with coins and what else I think WEST HAM are very patient the lad scores against all the top under 23 sides and a number of times he's been on the bench not once has he been used people are just fed up with constant low balling I get it you never pay the first price straight away but when a club says that's their price we still don't meet it we could have signed KATE had we not mucj about and Leicester came in and signed him I see your goING on about ONANA why did we go for him in the first place research that's why and we agreed terms and he wanted to come to west ham he's 20 and some times you have to take a pint rather than wait till he's 24 or 25 and if successful he's way out of our price range we paid 10 mill for the big lump from preston who couldn't trap a bag of cement people are just fed up with us making the transfer business open I understand it's hard to keep a lot private as clubs like it out in the open so it pushes the pricend up if other clubs come in as well so if we didn't know the half of it we couldon't comment a lot of people take it very personal when the long and short of it is we are all supporters of WEST HAM and when we pay our money to watch the club people are enttiled to their opinion.

Mike agree with some of that, I did say Diangana going was no big deal and that it didn’t warrant the outrage at the time. No issue with Diop going as he always seemed to go missing at crucial moments, couldn’t seem to read the play. Vlasic I would have given more opportunity to. But the thing that bothers me is the rumours that Moyes is stopping transfers because of players attitudes - that background check on targets should have been done pre window, it all seems a bit unprofessional from the club right now and is preventing the team pushing on. There is a small window to break into the top 6 club and while those around us that we could possibly displace are pushing on, with the exception of Man Utd, we are dithering.

I think DM has done a superb job to date. Remember where we were before he arrived! Getting rid of Vlasic had to be done as he was not upto it. We may get 2/3 of the transfer money back for him if he has a reasonable season, unlike Anderson where we took a near £35m hit. Trust DM, 3 years back we were praying to come 4th from bottom, yet now we’ve recently reached European semi final!
