What makes me laugh is all these players like Frendrup will go to other teams for £10-£20m and then in 2 years when they shine we will want them for £60m. Ludicrous

Agreed. But the trouble is we don't have the money to make punts at 10 to 20m that don't work, so go looking for 'sure things'.and prime time 'sure things' cost 40m+.so we go looking for former sure things that are 'proven' and have a couple years in the tank left.
Ageing, no resale, high wages. And repeat.
So we scout the 'next talent', hope to get them for what we consider 'punt money' (5-8m), baulk at it when that price rises, and then end up back in the usual market for ageing proven former stars.
It's not by accident that cycle repeats over and over.

.and we won't want him for 60m.we'll want him for 25-30m, and he priced out at 60m.

Firstly, I want to make it clear that I take no pleasure whatever posting to deride the club I support, I just relay what I hear, two-shall we say minor conversations happened this week, which I think underlines the present situation, I suppose they don’t mean much in context, as the main window starts. On Monday, when the big boss will be back at the head, leading us to pastures anew, so we shall all await, with baited breath the many new players being signed on his return, going forward, , IF a few people want to know, what was said I will post, but unfortunately they underline where we are? Doesn’t give me any pleasure

I suppose it depends on between who the conversations were between. ?

First call to Brentford re Daamsgaard, WH enquire is he available for transfer circa 17.5 m Met with subdued humour, as WH told Spurs now with Thomas Frank, and other clubs are in talks around 28/ 30 m! Call to Leipzig re Cb Bashuiba, offer 12 m euro around 10 m, Player just signed new contract valued at 25/30 euro! German club thought offer was plain silly, WH offered Egan Riley, the free agent ex Burnley, virtually same money he’s was on at Burnley, plus a few bits, WH were very keen, player thinks about it, looks to Strasbourg first then Marseille, who offer more, money and longer contract, Looks to me WH out of touch, this is no way to do business, if you havnt got the money no problem , then don’t embarrass yourself, apparently big meeting next week, the whole transfer direction needs sorting out,

The whole club needs sorting out. It's the usual transfer strategy nothings changed and when one of the owners and the manager go on holiday something is amiss!
Why is it all these other clubs have already made strides to.improve themselves and they are a long way ahead of us.
It's OK, let them carry on and then when we get relegated we know who to blame

You are totally right Phil. There is no strategy, whatever transfer targets have been identified talks, sounding clubs out should have been done long before the window opened June 1st
We all agree or disagree about the standard of our managers but they all have one thing in common. The constant meddling of Sullivan and Brady. 2 people with absolutely no football knowledge and from my slightly ignorant position no business acumen either

"BIG MEETING NEXT WEEK" hopefully to sell the club.
Transfers should have been discussed long ago. A typical example of how to.poorly run a football club. It's OK, it will still be our club long after Sullivan and Co have gone
