An unsavoury thought.if we have to sell before we can buy, who can we sell that is going to actually bank roll a rebuild? And how do we shift those that we don't want. At this point, we have quite a few that look largely uncoveted!
Rodriguez
Irving
Mavropanos
Ward Prowse
Areola
Paqueta (owing to court case)
Cornet
Kilman.
We've advertised we're desperate. We've advertised we can't buy until we sell. We've advertised we have cashflow troubles and not a pot to piss in.
All of these make us prone to horribly low ball offers at best, and at worst targets to avoid dealing with to leave us in the rubbish.
The above are our 'unwanted and unloved' largely. None of them look frankly desirable to a suitor. All (Irving aside) are on career high wages. And it's telling we rarely get shot of a player unless it's free at the end of their contracts.
Sullivan has engineered a disasterous dealing position, made us look needy and desperate, and the fabled rebuild is (rightfully) subject to shipping out sub par rubbish we don't want.
The only players it looks like we have that are truly saleable assets are Alvarez, Kudus, and Aguerd. We've been lowballed on Kudus already (**** knows how they think they'll get 70m+ for him). But 50m doesn't finance a rebuild. Aguerd's suitors are already playing the "We'll have him on loan again" angle, as are Cornet's.
This window looks ****ed before it's even started. Potts, Earthy, Marshall, Orford and Casey better have high ceilings.looks like they might well be needed more than we'd like.

Worst ways. Rodriquez, Mavro, JWP, Cornet, Kudus, Alvarez and Emerson should bring in over 100mil plus the wages this saves. Few freebies and a few take a punt cheapies and that's about it, unless someone finds there is a few millions stuffed down the back of Sully's sofa. After having the same seats since the move to LS, my boys and I have managed to move 24 rows further down the same section (due to my age and disability), when I spoke to both of them they said they were looking forward more to see what the new view was like, rather than the football, Just about sums it up really!

STUBBO, with your long experience, you have a handle on the situation, according to what I understand, Mavropanos, Cornet and Rodriguez I think will go, but yes we will struggle to get them all gone, and if WH are waiting to sell before they buy, we will get nobody in at all, as our preliminary targets are disappearing, it’s ridiculous, , coupled with this, irregardless of our new data driven technique, it looks like Sullivan does not want to back this manager, the next two weeks will tell the story

Brilliant post. Exactly how I see it. We're like a farmer going to market with an empty cattle truck. CATTLE TRUCK the very definition of the position we are in.

We are a just over a week into the transfer window, we have ages to go to shift players and get others in. If we were near the end of the window I would understand all the fuss, but we aren't so I can't!

I don't think all the fuss is because of the lack of signings although its part of it, I think it's more of the clear indication that the owners are not willing to put money in and show any ambition, people are sick of the lies and the way the club is run. now I can understand wanting to be self sufficient but that would require being savvy in the transfer market which we are not, infact compared to other prem clubs we are awful at it. Penny pinching won't get us out of the mess sullivan has got us in, very risky strategy that could see us relegated.

All the talk about us being okay under PSR, then another report says we were in the red close to 100mil last year. Sully can't just put money into the club for transfers that isn't how it works. Look at Newcastle, richest owners in the prem yet they had to sell players last season to comply with PSR, why because they cannot just put money into the club for transfers. Look at Chelsea sold their ladies team and 2 hotels to their holding company so they could comply with PSR. This PSR is ruining all clubs, loads have sold their young up a coming players to comply, hopefully we won't have to. All this talk about missed that player and missed that one, who says we were even interested. let's wait to see what happens in the window and then moan if we have to.

Not sure what report you're referring about the losses. But all reputable sources have said we are nowhere near PSR. We have actually recorded profits because of the Rice money in recent years. Basically the club can lose 105m over the course of 3 years,15m of the club's money the other 90m of losses have to be covered by the owners. The last injection of equity was by kretinsky back in 2021 so it's outside the 3 year PSR window. Basically meaning in the last 3 years our owners have put no money into the club which they are allowed to do without finding loopholes like chelsea. Newcastle owners would have maxed out their allowable spend and must have gone over so that's why they had to sell to be under the acceptable loses. Now previous years have dropped off they can go again and inject money in again.
Our owners could inject money into the club and not sell anyone and we'd be fine under PSR. They would rather sell our better players than put their own money in.
Sullivan used to loan the club money and earn interest from it, but a loan doesn't help with psr it has to be through equity to help with psr. So he'll only do it if it benefits him. It seems to me the ambition quite simply isn't there, the only positive I can think of is that it means potential new owners would have a clean slate to inject money in.
So yeah we could wait for our player sales to go through getting rid of our better players and replace them with our 3rd or 4th choice as all our other targets have gone but that's the owners choosing to do that, it's not because they have their hands tied by psr like they want you to believe and the sooner fans understand that the sooner we can get them out.

Declan Rice money is split over a few years not 3 like PSR.

It shows the measure of the man that in the past he loans the club money and fair enough he wants to make a bit of money on it, but not only charges interest but double the Bank of England base rate! Just like a loan shark. He already has millions yet wants to make money on the ‘so called’ club he loves.
Then we can talk about the fact that he has sold our stadium and I think was hoping to get the London stadium for next to nothing . I doubt the government or mayor will fall for that one. But having no stadium of our own I don’t think is a good thing.
The guy is a joke

@gerry, I'm hoping we are due another installment for Rice in this coming psr window. But I also read that it's earmarked to be paid to the bank as we took out a loan against the future rice payment.
Either way the point i'm making is it's our owners choice to sell our better players rather than inject money in. So they are lying when they tell us they HAVE to sell.
If this coming season is a disaster due to a poor window it's solely down to their incompetence and lack of ambition.
Spot on hammer-D, acting like he's a fan yet he was charging big interest to the club, he values the club at something like 800m to a billion he's going to make a huge profit when he sells up. Yet he still won't invest and show a bit of ambition.

12 Jun 2025 21:36:43
He won't sell up because he doesn't want to. He can strut around posing as Billy Big Bollocks as he owns the club. Take that away and what is he? An old ex porn baron with a wife who is only with him because of his vast wealth. Don't get me wrong he made his money from an industry him and Gold built and they saved us when we were in deep poo so he deserves some credit. Can't see anyone buying us anytime soon and if they did they would be hindered with PSR the same as Newcastle were. The only reason the barcodes are okay this season is because of CL. Such a shame that the 150+ mil was wasted mostly and the wrong manager was appointed, if we had got it right on both counts we could have been back in Europe again.

He definitely won't sell up if fans just accept it and believe the lies.
Difference with Newcastle is the owners brought in footballing people and listened to them, all their signings have worked out well.
We have no clear plan and our owners won't invest. We could have got in champions league ourselves but come January because we were safe we didn't invest and try push on.
We have big potential just need to right owners to unlock it.
