Ed, can you shed any light on the Morrison situation? Is he wanting to stay or go and what are the clubs intentions? {Ed039's Note - He hasnt handed in a transfer request, I think the intentions would depend on which division WHU are in next season)

I think Sullivan and Gold are accepting that they need to put their hands back in their pockets to save our bacon. I think if we happen to land Lescott, along with Roger Johnson whos just signed a loan move, our defensive problems are near enough sorted. Once Reid gets back into action partnering with Lescott would be solid. Collins/Johnson/Tomkins for cover is good enough. Then if we manage to poach one of our more likely targets such as Ba/Traore and then maybe a loan move for John Guidetti at City this is our striker problems also solved.

I mean bringing in 4-5 players mentioned above we would obviously need to ship some of the benchmen on their way, Petric (who I think has already been released), Carlton Cole, George McCartney, Matt Taylor, Alou Diarra, Modibo Maiga, Kevin Nolan and possibly Jack Collison (but I think Jack is a great 70-80th min substitution to help smother the centre of the park).

Some of these players would be snapped up by the lower league sides and would significantly reduce our wage bill!

Fill the rest of the squad with a few of the young boys, ie. Turgott, Potts, Lee, Driver. Slowly but surely these boys need to come through to senior level or we will never be a long term success

Big Sam won't be going anywhere until at least the end of the season, REGARDLESS of results. It boils down to money, he will gain a total of 3.5m in compo If he is sacked. Along with 2.5m for a replacement. Gold and Sully have done their b******* in the summer on Carroll Downing etc, about to do their b******* again this month, they won't want to spunk another 6m just replacing BS

The davids have to keep us up they have 2 much to lose

johnson is good loan we now need a goal scorer rhodes on ings would be worth a punt

bubble believer

This is a paragraph from a statement that the joint chairmen have released "we are pleased to confirm we are close to securing one of our key striking targets. A defender is high on the list of priorities as well and progress is being made on that front. " tomorrows statement will read "the player has turned us down because he felt he had a better deal elsewhere".

Your manager has no heart. Look at Billy Davies he was still barking orders when Forest were 4-0 up.
Forest had 4 or 5 of their first team out as well.
