why are we offloading stewart downing am I the only hammers fan who thought he had a good season last year one of his best for west ham perhaps he could get better under slaven or am I mad!

It's more complicated than that, firstly downing wants to return to the north east, secondly if at all possible back to middleboro, which he considers his home club, next downing like afew others had avery poor second half of the season , then you have to realise, SB ,plays generally avery different system to the diamond shape, prefered in early season when downing did well,, usually 3-4-3-1 or something similar, that's why wh are flooding the midfield areas, it's thought that downing will not fit in to this, and to get our money back and even a profit on a30 year old is good business, hope that explains his probable sale to you others will or must leave as well, regards IRONMIKE
