WHilst it seems Lacazette is the player we are trying to go all out for I would personally rather look at Ben Yedder who scored 4 goals less in a poor team, or Carlos Bacca who is a mini Sergio Aguero or Icardi. At £38m Lacazette is a huge gamble!

i have to agree with u there phil 40 million euros on a player unproven in the pl is a big risk. he may be quality in the french league its good to be ambitious but are we being over ambitious. the fact that our offer is out in the public domain concerns me that we may well have inflated our striker prices or is it a ruse by sullivan knowing that lacazette was already being pursued by psg who can offer far better wages + champions league football and of course could match most asking prices.
if we do have those funds available for a striker and if reports are true valencia could be on his way out why go for bony proven pl goalscorer say 20 mill and cheeky 12 mth loan bid for benteke with a view to buy.

Totally agree. For £31m we could get Bony for £15m and Ayew for £15m and both have proved they can score in the premier league. Don't get me wrong, I would love Lacazette to come in and be the next Terry Henry but is it realistic!

Ben Yedder scored 4 goals less than Lacazette for a very POOOOR Touloose side and if we bought Lacazette Lyon are looking to him as the replacement.

not really seen anything of ben yedder to be honest phil but it seems like most fans agree that they would sooner have 2 10/ 20 mill strikers than 1 31 mill striker who may not cut it in the pl or get injured. I certainly would not complain with 2 from bony ayew wilson yeddar benteke zaza just some the names we have been linked with I see both lacazette n batshuayi as being over ambitious in regards to that they want champions league football meaning we could miss out on some of our other targets.

Great shout bkkhammer and am in agreement. Unless Lacazette (who I really like but not for £38m) turns out to be the next Terry Henry am not sure its wise to pay £38m.
