Mr Sullivan strikes again, any chance we had of signing Charlie Austin is now completely gone after Mr S opened his mouth and pissed Austin off big time. Well done Mr Sullivan!!

20 Aug 2015 20:52:04
There is something not quite right with Austin, why are there no teams wanting to sign (on paper) a 20+ goal a season striker.
The only team to show real interest is Leicester but even that hasn't been confirmed, strange, very strange.

20 Aug 2015 18:16:30
Well any chance of getting Austin has now been blown our the water by DG'S outrageous remarks about his fitness. Why do the club continue to do this, shows no class and is utterly embarrassing. WHAT A JOKE!!

20 Aug 2015 15:03:36
I truly believe that we have very little ready cash available and therefore I think we'll get Negredo and loan (if we can agree a deal with Valencia over the purchase) and we'll get VARGAS.

20 Aug 2015 20:54:29
Those two would certainly do for me, need a GK as well though.

20 Aug 2015 14:58:08
Been reading this page for a few months now and it's great to hear iron mikes updates. I'm just really frustrated with my fellow West ham fans in general. There's to much panic and negativity. We've done good business so far, I don't agree that spending 15m on Austin is the answer, it's crazy money for a potential one season wonder and the fact no one else sees value here should tell the story. Dgs will do the right thing for the club and I'm sure will get someone over the line of top quality. Just be patient and have some faith. Things won't turn around over night

20 Aug 2015 20:56:20
Agree but the clocks ticking and the prices are going up as clubs are becoming more desperate. Need to make some signings very soon.

20 Aug 2015 22:44:11
Think prices will come down for some.and Austin is one of them. The R's need the cash and there are no takers.

Good post Hammer316.
Some fans bang on about how bad the owners are. Without them, we may not have had a club. I think the fans have short memory spans. The Icelanders left the club in serious financial difficulties and DGS have almost cleared this debt while still investing (as best they can) in players. It may be our club, but it's their money. let's not forget that.
Some are saying that the owners lack class criticizing Austin, but here they are criticizing the board and investors of their own beloved club. Pot and Kettle springs to mind. Sorry to say it, but somebody had to.

20 Aug 2015 13:40:41
I am also of the opinion that Randolph could prove an Achilles heel in the side.
However, he may surprise us all and play a blinder.
Unlikely but there is a remote possibility.
Lastly, we have to be realistic. We are not a wealthy club and to expect the owners to purchase a GK, CF , RB/ LB and possibly another midfielder is somewhat unreasonable. They have been spending what they can along with paying off the club debt and have done a terrific job really and stabilised the club. If the club gets relegated, they have more to lose than we do I would say. Yes, we would be crushed to see the team go down. but they would be crushed as fans and worse off financially. I am certain they understand the situation and are doing what they can to strengthen. Let's be honest, when we signed Payet, Ogbonna, Obiang, Lanzini and the likes, we were singing the praises of the owners. Now there is a hiccup in securing the players we want and they want, we are criticizing them. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. They can't win either way.

20 Aug 2015 22:46:52
Think Randolph has real technical frailties which are too late to patch up. Very worried.

20 Aug 2015 12:55:39
Still can't believe the Sullivan outburst, it gets worse every time I read it. SULLIVAN , sorry but has shown how out of touch he his with big dose of arrogance. You have let the club and yourself down! . By the way for a player with supposed dodgy knees, which Hammer striker got close to him last season! NUMPTY

20 Aug 2015 14:13:46
Rich I have just read Sullivan quote, if he has not been mis quoated i'm flabbergasted by all this. Firstly what the hell are we doing speaking to QPR in the first place as in Ironmike posts ( and if anyone knows anything ironmike does) and secondly how dare he be so derogatory towards the a player. any player, even if he thinks its true. its called professionalism, I have slagged of Big Spam when he had a go at the DGS, now he has done the same, I hope its a misquote

20 Aug 2015 22:48:59
Come on Rich it's Sullivan's money and he spoke honestly. Do you want a "no comment" , "I didn't see it" club?

20 Aug 2015 12:40:26
MAIGA in GOAL? He has to be useful for something

20 Aug 2015 13:20:43
NO NOT in goal, use him as one of the goal posts! IRONMIKE

20 Aug 2015 13:34:43
LMAO or a corner flag. Some team out there must need corner flag or goal post?
ANy Lindegaard news

20 Aug 2015 13:42:58
And play the opposition on side Ironmike? It's normally him sauntering back from an offside position and now he's going to help the other team?? :-)

20 Aug 2015 10:35:50
SB has every confidence in Randolph ahead of the game this weekend (Lets just think back to Europa Cup)

20 Aug 2015 13:18:47
Can see bournemouth getting their first premier league points at the weekend

20 Aug 2015 15:05:14
And me.

20 Aug 2015 10:20:17
With all the hype around at the moment, the lengthy saga over Austin, the embarrassing low bid for Yimlaz. I'm starting to believe that we have no funds, and the board are releasing our target names when those targets are on the verge of signing for clubs elsewhere. By doing this they appear to make themselves good
Can I just add this season is the most important of our history with the combination of the new manager, new stadium and the new finance package. So LISTEN hear board sign the likes of Austin or we will be getting what we deserve!! The Championship in a empty stadium!! # think on!

20 Aug 2015 13:19:36
Like I said I think it will be loan signings from now to be honest

20 Aug 2015 09:11:44
Take a look at the following list of players who have fallen out of favour at their current clubs and warm the bench (majority free to leave)

Mathieu Flamini
Joel Campbell
Philippe Senderos
Aleksandar Tonev
Charles N'Zogbia
Lee Camp
Ryan Allsop
Elliott Ward
Junior Stanislas
Nathaniel Chalobah
Lucas Piazon.
Bertrand Traoe
Brede Hangeland
Joe Ledley
Barry Bannan.
Anders Lindegaard
Jonny Evans
Tyler Blackett
Jesse Lingard
James Wilson

Surely we could one or two bargains from that lot in particular Lindegaard

20 Aug 2015 09:10:10
I agree fully with Phil1016.£ 3,5 Mill for a seasoned international who has played in the Champions league and bangs in goals for fun. Derisory is not the word. Galatasaray must have thought they were on Candid Camera when they received the bid. It's both a joke and an insulting bid. If I was Yilraz, I would refuse to join West Ham now based upon the fact that the West Ham originally valued him at £ 3,5Mill. I'm gobsmacked to tell you the truth. If they can't afford him. then leave him alone. don't embarrass the club by making offers like that. 2 years ago he was valued at £ 25 Mill when Chelsea were looking at him.

20 Aug 2015 09:00:48
Is it only me or is anyone else out there starting to get worried for the upcoming 3 fixtures with Randolph in goal at home to Bournemouth and then Liverpool and Citeh!!!
It seems this window we've brought in lots of DF midfielders apart from Payet. What happens if PAYET gets injured??
Non of it makes any sense and as such it all makes very worrying reading?

20 Aug 2015 13:33:06
Phil, my belief is that if Payet get's injured, which I would think they are praying he doesn't, they will probably consider Lanzini as a short terms stop gap.
Barring that option, I think the only viable option would be to play Jarvis in that role and hope for the best. not ideal but options are really limited as you say. However, even though Lanzini is not a proven playmaker at this level, I still think his creativity will be better than what we had last season.

20 Aug 2015 08:46:15
We might have to start Maiga this weekend. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahha let me just pick myself up

20 Aug 2015 09:08:47
Steve, if you have now composed yourself, it could well be, he has been on the bench, I think we paid £5m for him, ( another Big Spam master stroke). Surely he has to come good, my biggest worry is that he plays he scores a couple and DGS may think his turned the corner and put another striker on hold, especially now AC is close ( for how long?#)

Would he put Sakho up front alone and use the new lad Lanzini?

20 Aug 2015 08:40:26
Morning fellow sufferers,

Another day on this new Drama Series " Who Will Westham Be Linked With Today", Its a merry go round and it is making me dizzy.

I see CA scored again last night, which makes me wonder, if we were close on signing him would he have been allowed to play, . BUT looking at another angle, could WH have wanted him to play to see his sharpness and fitness,

Spurs are chasing Berahino, I wondering if that does not work out they will turn to Austin, Austin Kane?, bit like Austin Caroll, hence more reason for the DGS to get this done quick while Spurs still focused on Berahino if indeed they do want Austin, but personal opinion is there hoping maybe on Yilmaz and Austin 2nd choice

Ironmike said yesterday that they were looking at CB, I would be more concerned in getting a GK, and striker in ASAP but obviously working on all fronts.

Going back to CA and the immediate future, if we did sign CA, and with Carroll maybe 2 games away from full fitness, how would this work with them both playing together?, in my view quite similar and would they not get in each other way?, I can't imagine paying big wages to alternate them in matches.

Please please get a GK in for Saturday and if not, would any one consider playing Raphael Spiegel the young Swiss GK?, think he played 2 games on loan with Carlisle last year, as much as I do not want to put the lad Randolph down but his confidence must be shot with news of us trying to find a 2nd keeper, I think he imagined he would be the number 2, but I do not think that's going to happen. I would put the young lad in can't be any worse!

I do not think we will sign a Striker before Saturday and I think I read Zarate is injured so could it be Elliot Lee having a chance, or putting Sakho up top alone. Sorry for the length of this as thought I fill in some time until Ironmike turns up with the latest.
