Well, 1 week until kick off and in my eyes, nothing to write home about in terms of signings. Now, I'm willing to give the signings we have made the benefit of the doubt and say they "will" perform when they arrive. In my humble opinion, we have signed one decent player - Collins ! Maiga, Diame and Diarra are risk buys and apart from Maiga never shaped at their last football clubs and have been "let go" for free or on the cheap for a reason. Maiga played in the lower leagues and to be honest - Just because Diarra was called up to the France squad..it really doesn't fill me with confidence. All decent players we have approached have either turned us down or their terms are unreasonable.
I'm hoping and praying for one CB a LB and a RB before season starts. Midlfield and up front I think will suffice until next transfer window but we need to be solid in defence. BFS has always been associated with a tight defence but he hasn't got it right "yet" in my opinion.
Team as I see at right now ( BFS choice ) would be
RB - O'Brien
CB - Collins
CB - Tomkins
LB - McCartney
LM - Vaz Te
CM - Noble
CM - Diarra
RM - Maynard ( poss O'Neill )
F - Cole
F - Maiga
With this team I think we could average 1.5 goals a game but likely to concede about 2 goals a game. At best a season tally of 35 - 38 points.
I hope I'm wrong as another season like 2010/2011 would kick the s*** out of the teams confidence in both themselves and BFS.
That team will go down ..end of!
Diarra and diame are not risk buys there are proven internationals who have both captained there countries both solid quality players
If we score 1.5 goals per game and concede 2 we would have no points lol
No way BFS will play noble ahead of nolan
Its an average over the season you berk ! lol
