Good result today but we were given the freedom to attack. With Noble sitting in front of the back 4 it gave Soucek the ability to move forward. Benrhama better today but of course we lose him for a month due to African Nation Cup. Diop still worrying noticed virtually all his clearances were being picked up by Watford

Bowen outstanding again and Deffinately MOTM VAR was good today but as usual it's the inconsistencies thinking back to the Fpul on DAWSON and today how far Are they going back

I am a massive rice fan but it just shows how much souchek’s game is held back when he has to play the sitting role alongside rice, I know rice wants to go forward as an AMF but he doesn’t get the goals souchek does when he plays the role plus rice is more a natural DM.

Bowen was off the scale and I’ve said it for a while but it is just as important we keep him as much as rice. As var being good, I’m not sure that’s the case at all but each to their own I guess.

Dawson and diop combo I don’t like, diop makes me nervous, Dawson is good but he’s just slow. Ref was poor in my opinion on decisions for both sides. Three points though, hope this is us back on track now.

Spot on with the Rice/Soucek points.

Rice has looked outstanding pushing forward and showcasing his improved all round game, but that said, it hasn’t resulted in goals.

Moyes must ask Rice to resume his CDM role. Those occasional second half lung busting runs, when the opposition is tiring are fine. But for Soucek to score as freely as last year, he simply needs to spend more of the game further forward, rather than staying back covering Rice.

Possibly Rice wanted to be able to go forward and Moyes wants to keep him happy? Whatever the reason I think it’s clear Soucek is more likely to score when given freedom to get forward.

Agreed on all of the above Regarding Rice! Maybe he is becoming to big for the club if that makes sense, it can make other team members disgruntled imo if all everybody talks about is Rice, he’s part of a team, no more!

Against Watford after about 15 mins when we settled, I just could not see us losing, it showed that there will be a decent WH even without Rice providing the money is reinvested!

Watched the game live, but appreciated it more watching the highlights. Bowen absolutely outstanding, best I have seen him play although never stops running in every game.

Odd criticisms but bloody hell 4-1 win away albeit Watford, I would consider it as harsh to criticise, even Salam missed a Penalty??⚒⚒⚒⚒

I'm happy with either one of soucek or Rice bombing on. On the face of it you'd think rice was going forward more as he has more assists but soucek is still getting forward I just don't think its as noticed because he isn't carrying the ball when he does plus he's had 2 or 3 goals disallowed through marginal var calls if he gets those goals we probably wouldn't be having the discussion.

I do think they are fairly balanced which has served us very well so far.

Playing a 433 or a 4141 with noble sitting behind rice and soucek could be interesting allowing both of them getting forward more often.

Agree Chelms regarding Bowen it was a complete performance said the same myself after the game that it was his best performance for us. If he performs to that level every week we can definitely continue to fight in that top 6.

A good January window could secure it and if we hit form at the right time we will be contenders in europa.
