Am getting pig sick of hearing about Declan rice looking for a move away fro champions league football, sick of hearing about how he won't sign a contract without a release Claus. I'm sorry, I love the guy but he needs to walk before he can run, not saying it's going to happen but hope it will, but what if we have an amazing season in all competitions (wishing) what then? What if we finish above the sides he says keep touting him, what then. It could be paper talk I don't know. He's playing well for England but surely that has a lot to do with our club and the amount of trust we have in him and game time he's getting. I really thought he was going to be the new mr West Ham, how wrong I was.

Whitby, I agree mate👍 It’s all about the Declan Rice show it seems, it’s the media unfortunately that inflames these situations as they need to write articles on the game, it’s an easy story to write and create some fuss about!
There is obviously a lot of truth in them as he doesn’t actually seem to want to deny them, which is a positive indicator of the truth, similar to Lingard not positively saying he wanted to remain with us.
But we will survive and prosper hopefully without either of them? âš’âš’âš’âš’âš’.

I agree with you both to a point, it is frustrating hearing the same story about him refusing a new contract unless there is a release clause, but I’m not being funny, other articles say no new contract has even been offered yet.

Also, the fact he hasn’t come out and said anything isn’t necessarily an indicator that there is truth. He could just be focused on his football and ignoring the chat about everything else.

Lastly, look at what has just happened with Harry Kane at Tottenham. The guy wanted to leave, wanted to join Manchester City, didn’t have a release clause and therefore Levy could play hardball and break the rumoured gentleman’s agreement the pair had.

Do I hold a grudge if Rice wants a release clause? Not in the slightest, as long as that release clause is at a reasonable value for the club. We want £100 million, so the release clause can be £100 million. What’s the problem?

I think he is waiting to see how we go this year, he is certainly committed, we have a back up plan with Kral anyway, it's probably agents rather than media stirring it up, i'm not worried good players come and go its the way of any team outside top 4 I don't want him to leave but if he does I'm sure we will be fine.

Why is it that the media are always print stories that just disrupt our team
Seems like if there no news they just run some bull story about west ham
Lingard don't well the other night think if united don't play him we could get him in january.

RedRobbo’s got it right.

Believe what actually happens as opposed to media speculation. Almost all of these stories are 3rd rate journo and agent driven nonsense.

I’m sure Moyse has advised his players to avoid media comments.

Soucek recommended Coufal and look how that worked out. Both of them have recommended Kral. I’m really looking forward to how Moyse uses him, as he must consider that Rice might move on next season.

If Rice does leave in the future, he owes us nothing. He has been fantastic and a major part of why we are in Europe this season. Those who are becoming adversely critical of him might want to think about that, then imagine how Moyse might invest the cash if he does leave.

Frankly, whether Rice stays, or leaves at the end of this season - it’s win/ win.

Dec also getting snarky with opponents have you guys noticed? Not a good example of captaincy or demonstrating "adulthood" at 22.
