At last, we seem to be signing some decent players. At least we're steering away from the donkeys that Moyes suggested, apart from JWP. I was dubious about JWP, but he might turn out to be a good addition to dispute my original view of his 'one element' style of play. I'm very pleased to admit to being mistaken on him. On the other hand, I'm also very pleased we didn't sign Maguire and McTominay. Now we need a good young striker. Things may be looking up. COYI!

Definitely. I'd still like to see full backs and another 2 midfielders if Fornals leaves. Couple strikers and should be done cause ings and Antonio won't last the season

I agree about JWP. I really didn’t want him and thought it would be a backward step, but he certainly impressed v Chelsea - worked hard, harried their midfielders, took a great corner for Aguerd’s goal and produced a peach of a ball with his left foot to put Antonio through for our second.

As debut contributions go…

JWP certainly didn’t look the one dimensional player I took him for. I doubt the Lukaku rumour has legs - he’s on too much money. I think Kehrer should be given a chance to settle in at right back. If we have to play the Moyes tactics of counter-attacking football, then at least we are now getting the right type of player. I think our weakness lies in Coufal, Soucek and lack of another striker. Still time left to put that right.

For me jwp was the price being reported wasn't it over 40m and his age
Did think he'd do a good job and because we never went through with the maguire deal he'll be a great leader on the pitch
Far happier we got him than maguire
