It still amazes me that Potter who is a Premier League manager couldn't see where the problems were and continued playing JWP.

one game under Nuno and we were a different team without JWP

I totally agree Mac. But I am trying to keep my feet on the ground as I remember when Potter was brought in, I didn’t want him but after such a desolate chaotic couple of months under Loppy, potters first match in charge ( even though we lost) felt like a breath of fresh air even to me he didn’t want potter. I saw an interview with him and he seemed to really get West Ham. But it didn’t take long for my origin feelings to return and am almost euphoric now that he is gone.
I’m much more in favour of Nuno than I was with potter but I just hope the initial good feeling lasts and it isn’t Groundhog Day.

The bottom line is Graham Potter is NOT a Premiership manager. Never has been, and never will be. Everyone was fooled into believing he was because he was a cog in the wheel of a successful recruiting machine at Brighton. He was found out at Chelsea and then West Ham, but only after he’d successfully got paid millions. Can’t see another top flight team in this country taking him on.

JWP has played averagely, we all know that, but in his defence, when we brought him he was pretty good. initally. He scored a few goals and played a more offensive role, which is his position. The problem is the club. We have Pacquets, Soucek, JWP who played the exact same position. We had Bowen and Kudus who played the exact same position. Surely, someone must realise if you buy an attacking midfielder then that is their position?
Furthermore, someone must have though Todibo could defend. and that's even stranger!

If you want a really good laugh, read the article about Ward-Prowse written by Joe Stephenson on Football League World “Southampton urged to strike deal for West Ham outcast James Ward-Prowse”. It is highly indicative of how so far off the mark so-called pundits are about real football. It’s complete nonsense in my opinion.

Just read it. Wow it beggars belief. But we had a manager who watched him in training and in matches week in week out and had him as the first name on the team sheet yet nearly most people on here realised he was garbage and holding us back early on.
I’m just surprised the article didn’t use the term dead ball specialist! A dead ball specialist who hasn’t scored from a dead ball for years

JWP has and always will be a set piece merchant, the stats back that up. Take away penalties and set pieces he's one of the least effective players in most metrics. I hope Southampton are desperate enough and pay us something stupid to get him back.
