We could do with Enner Valencia back at West Ham now! He certainly knows where the goal is.

8 goals in 54 West Ham appearances. Yes, exactly what we need.

You should keep up to date with his current form. I’m not talking about his record of 8 years ago - that’s as much use as ashtrays on a motorbike. Ridiculous.

Exactly, 15 goals so far this season for Fenerbahce. OK Its the Turkish league but he has clearly found his touch again when he claerly wasn't happy in the premier league at either us or Everton. Our problem is we keep targetting tall centre forwards who are good in the air when what's needed is pace to get behind the back four. Scamacca, whilst I like him, sits in front of the back 4 and he gets very little supply. ANyway, any odds on next west ham manager yet. Personally I would really like Rúben Amorim. Getting him however might be a different proposition

Mike,
"8 goals in 54 West Ham appearances. Yes, exactly what we need."
If you really want to use a comparison of 8 years ago with today, then Antonio's premiership stats reveal a 14.29% goal return on appearances. Valencia's figures you quote give a 14.81% goal return. Almost identical, but Valencia is slightly better, and your blue-eyed boy, David Moyes, keeps picking Antonio. I don't hear you shouting "Get rid of Antonio!" For your information, Valencia's CURRENT Süper Lig stats are 13 goals in 12 appearances.
My point was that a former West Ham striker seems to know where the goal is, which is a lot more than our current strikers, but you appear to have taken me literally. There's obviously no real suggestion that we should put in a bid to bring him back. It's called being facetious.

Daisy is exactly right. (I used league appearances/goals only.)
Moyes is definitely on his way out, whether it's in January (total madness) or later (even worse). You can't tell me that the WH board have not discussed his possible replacements already. If we're not going to go for Pochettino, who is still available, or to buy out a contracted coach like Thomas Frank, then the available decent candidates are in short supply. I believe Amorim is still at Sporting and would prove more difficult than Frank. The obvious danger, of course, is that Southgate becomes available and our board is daft enough to have been duped by his over-hyped record as England manager. That has got 'disaster' written all over it. Failing that, the next foolhardy board move might be Lampard or Gerrard - both unthinkable. Pochettino or Frank remain my favoured options, but I accept that either could prove near impossible.

No I am OK thanks. 33 year old from the Turkish League is not where I want West Ham to be aiming.

"33 year old from the Turkish League is not where I want West Ham to be aiming."

Sorry, Mike, but what part of this are you struggling to understand?
"My point was that a former West Ham striker seems to know where the goal is, which is a lot more than our current strikers, but you appear to have taken me literally. There's obviously no real suggestion that we should put in a bid to bring him back. It's called being facetious".

Yeah, I think the suggestion here was that he is doing better than our current crop of TWO strikers and 45 CB's. One is clearly not a striker that MOYES persists with and the other is simply not getting supply. let's be honest, any striker has to have the supply. Ours don't get that and that's a big part of the problem? Look across our front line and midfield and can you really identify where goals are going to come from? Brentford you know MBUEMO and TONY. Livepool was SALAH and MANE. These are not 6'6" giants who get the ball crossed to them, they are tricky, pacey players that take defenders on? Arsenal have martinelli and Saka who run at defenders. OUR LOT sit back, have a smoke, send a text, quick cuppa and let the opponents come to us but we have no pace up front for that tactic.

The optimum time to oust Moyes is obviously now, and our board’s hesitation will come back to bite them.

I'M NO EXPERT (cause Mike knows them all), but GSBK must know what they are doing.APPARENTLY lol. I still don't understand how we can be targetting players in January, unless obviously Moyes will be the way forward

God forbid! It doesn’t take a genius to see that Moyes is way out of his depth in the modern day Premiership. It could be reasonably argued that he was never within his depth, but just survived. A few still argue that Alex Ferguson must have known what he was doing when he chose Moyes as his successor - “the Chosen One” and all that bollocks. Well, Fergie made quite a few crap player purchases and I think Moyes could be included in that category. The main nucleus of the successful Fergie Man Utd teams was from their own youth setup. And the Moyes track record is also evidence. No, Moyes has never developed a successful team. That’s why he should have been sacked weeks ago.

Looks like we could be going back to sevilla for En Nesyri? Also appears that MOYES has the full backing of the board and I can tell you for why. Because they can't get anyone else to replace him that they think is suitable. Personally it would have made sense, sack him now and then he can take over at RANGERS

13.) 22 Nov 2022
22 Nov 2022 10:07:59
By all accounts, Rangers are more than willing to appoint Moyes as their manager. That would be a solution to compensation payments for an incompetent coach - WH wouldn’t have to buy out his current contract and Rangers wouldn’t have to pay WH. If Rangers want Moyes that bad (more fool them) surely all parties could come to an arrangement? Bloody hell, I’d give Moyes a lift to Glasgow.

Tin I believe you are correct in your assessment; and also point out Moyes' mammy is N.Irish Protestant orange lodge background. So he technically even fits the Sectarian politics to some extent.
