Moyse has saved the club twice from relegation.

His Everton record shows he is a top half of the table manager, but not much better than that.

Thank you for your service.

The board backed you, but your standard tactics will not take the club any further forward.

Next.

In the past 5 seasons there have been 14 teams scoring less than a goal a game
~ 11 of those teams (79%) have been relegated

“For two and a half years they’ve been used to their team being sixth or seventh in the premier league; they’ve been used to a team getting to the semi-finals in Europe; they’ve been used to a team that already this year have won all their games in their group, but I think overall the performance levels in general havd been very good….” - David Deluded Moyse’ response when the MotD interviewer pointed out that the West Ham supporters were leaving the London Stadium early in their droves. There speaks a man who is so far up his own back passage that he thinks it’s dark because he hasn’t switched the light on! With that blind attitude, we don’t stand a chance in hell. This man really does believe he is the Saviour. I was reluctant to say it previously, but this idiot is a prize imbecile.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so angry since I first supported the Hammers. In my opinion, this statement appears to indicate that there doesn’t seem to him to be a problem and the fans are overreacting. Moyes has done a stirling job for a couple of years and for that we will be grateful, but this attitude is infuriating after recent results.

My question to all irons out there? Would you trust Moyes to be the man to bring us back up if we get relegated? I somehow think not

I trust him to take us down.

I find statements like this one by Sean Fisher on West Ham Zone absolutely unbelievable:
“It’s strange that West Ham have dominated in Europe but fallen so short domestically. but it seems Moyes will be given time to turn things around and hopefully break into the top half of the table.”
Does he not look at the difference in standards between our recent European opposition and the Premier League? It’s akin to us beating Cray Wanderers and then scratching our heads as to why we lost 8-0 in the next match against Man City. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work it out does it? However, it appears strange to the likes of genius Sean Fisher. He is one who sings the praises of David Moyes. Based on what? Please, somebody enlighten me as to what Moyes has actually achieved over the years. What has he actually won? The silence is deafening. Let me help Mr Fisher who apparently would be satisfied if West Ham are guided by Moyes into the top half of the premiership. That includes 9th or 10th. Now where have I seen that before? Oh, I know - Everton under Moyes, who regularly hovered mid-table. And that’s about it for Moyes achievements, other than relegating Sunderland and getting the sack from Man Utd and Real Socieadad. I for one want to see my team challenging for silverware and competing for a CL place, not languishing around mid-table or beating a load of farmers or teachers in Europe.

What truly amazes me is that moyes is moaning about the lack if firepower? Was it not him who decided which players to buy in the summer? So who is to blame. He had the chance to buy BBD but decided not to so its his fault?

The recent discussions around the management style of David Moyes and whether or not he should remain as head coach at WHU or be given more time to turn things around, prompted me into doing a bit of research into the career of our illustrious manager. In particular, I was interested in where he gained the reputation of being “a good manager”, so often repeated by football commentators, observers and so-called football “experts” in the guise of TV pundits.
One of the most repeated criticisms of DM by WHU fans is his negative and defensive approach to how he sets up his teams to play, and his obsession with centre backs. I looked into DM’s playing career and discovered his playing position was—yes, you’ve guessed it—centre back. He played over 540 times in that position.
His first managerial post was at Preston North End. In 2001, to qualify for his UEFA Pro Licence, he shadowed none other than Roy Hodgson at Udinese. That must have been exciting. At PNE he took charge of 234 matches, winning 113 of them.
He took over at Everton in 2002 and stayed with them until 2013. Moyes guided Everton to 7th, 17th, 4th, 11th, 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th, 7th, 7th, 6th and 5th. They didn’t win any silverware. Much like today, DM received praise from other managers for his “achievements” at Everton, although many are lost as to what they actually were. A section of Everton supporters called him “Dithering Dave” as a result of his indecisive management. And surprise, surprise, one of the biggest criticisms of his management record by Everton fans was his poor record against the ‘big four’ clubs—Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. In fact, in 43 away matches against them under Moyes, Everton failed to record one single win.
In July 2013, Moyes was appointed as Ferguson’s successor at Man Utd. The following month, his team won the Community Shield….against Wigan. It was downhill after that and he was sacked in April 2014. Under Moyes, Man Utd had won 5 points out of a possible 24 against the then “top four” clubs—Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. (There’s a pattern emerging here.) Moyes’ negative approach was heavily criticised by the fans, the local media and even the Liverpool manager. When given the opportunity to have him back at Everton as manager, the club did not consider him.
He was appointed as manager at Real Sociedad in November 2014. His style of management received heavy criticism as being “too Everton”. He was sacked in November 2015.
In July 2016, Moyes joined Sunderland and after one season under his management, they were relegated to the Championship for the first time in 10 years. After having said he wanted to stay on at Sunderland, Moyes resigned in May 2017.
And then the West Ham saga started. He was given a 6 months contract in November 2017, but he was not offered a new contract in May 2018 and he left the club. He returned in December 2019 after a disastrous stint by Manuel Pellegrini.
To summarise, David Moyes has never won any silverware other than the Community Shield against Wigan and the highest league position ever achieved was 4th in his third season at Everton. Sunderland supporters still blame Moyes for their descent into the lower divisions. He has fallen foul of the football authorities on a number of occasions as a result of ill-advised comments. He is known in the footballing world for being over defensive tactically. So where does this “good manager” reputation come from? The mind boggles.

Here’s another incredible statement from West Ham Zone. This one penned by Sam Stone:
“ Considering the money the club invested in the summer, the top six had to yet again be the aim. Moyes has shown he’s an excellent manager, particularly with lesser players who are in underdog situations. However, much like when he was in charge at Manchester United he potentially struggles when there are some higher-quality players at his disposal”.
An excellent manager! Sorry, but what planet are you on? Where is the evidence? His track tecord shows the exact opposite and your article seems to go on and agree. He’s clueless when dealing with players who can actually play, you correctly point out, yet this makes him an excellent manager? Give me a break. That’s a blatant contradiction in terms. What absolute nonsense.

Tinny, great research, think you should apply for “Mastermind” with DM as your specialist subject?? Rice says “DM is not under any pressure” we can make of that whatever we want! Perhaps some like an easy life under DM being automatic choices regardless of form?
