A little worrying that Moyes is apparently looking for a striker as backup to Antonio, bearing in mind Antonio is 32, Cresswell is 31. Surely we should now be looking at players for those positions and let Cresswell and Antonio play backup roles?

Yes was hoping for a real striker I think it would have made a real difference this season if we had someone who could score 15-20 this season

Therein lies the problem. To get a 15-20 goal a season striker you've got to pay 15-20 goal a season money.

The fact that the last West Ham player to score more than 15 Premier League goals in a season was Paolo Di Canio (16) in 99/00, really highlights the issues we've had with striker signings over the last 2 decades. Not sure it's a conundrum that's going to get solved this window either if I'm honest.

Billy, Di Canio was fantastic, it also highlights what I have said on here many times previously, you don’t have to be a so called “striker” to score goals, Di Canio was an attacking winger / midfielder!
I think that position is now outdated imo! Most forwards and attacking midfielders could and should be contributing to scoring!
We should long have sorted our transfer prospects by now, up front is my priority, but of course others badly needed to bolster our squad!

A bit like Bowen who is not an out and out striker but got 18 goals. Martin terrier from Rennes is a winger and got 21 goals

Rumour going around is that DM isn't looking for a striker to replace Antonio as he reckons he will be our no1 striker for another year at least please please tell me that these are false rumours please.
