HammerD, I just really hope so👎👎hate to see another greedy one on the payroll getting injured ☹️🤭he still has 2 years left on his Man U contract apparently so can’t see him relinquishing that deal hopefully! That would blow DM’s previous quote of “signing younger players” out of the water! ⚒⚒⚒.

I wouldn't be surprised as:
1 - he's past 30
2 - he's past it
3 - he's on astronomical wages
4 - he's injured

I really do hope it's just papertalk. but if true, then our clubs even worse than I first thought.

Apparently we still owe £70m in transfer fees?

70 million is nothing, hardly any transfers are paid upfront but paid over time!
Relating to Andersen going to Napoli then I would not mind the transfer as long as we get a decent price and it’s used wisely, great player on his day but to far and between, does not look interested in putting a shift in.

Bobby, personally I would prefer none of these so-called Marquee signings from overseas with no Premiership experience! Think a lot are bounty hunters? Give me the good old fashioned Players that put in a good shift, not posers that we seem to sign on astronomical egoistical wages! Of course there are the loads of exceptions, but they always seem to be signed by other clubs? Anderson, Haller, Yarmelenko, Wilshere, Roberto, can only think of these at the time of my Sunday pre meal drink👍Give me the grafters every time, we know who they are, less skill yes but endless effort! ⚒⚒⚒.

Totally agree, team of 11 grafters would always finish higher than the luxury players.

We all know that West Ham fans love a player who works and tries his socks off (Di Canio, tevez, Noble, ) just to mention a few.

I think majority of fans can handle a relegation if the players have tried, when we see the effort non existent then that’s when fans turn against players.

I wonder if the time has come for us to buy British players. When we buy foreign they generally let us down, a few have worked, but MANY have not.

When we did well in the 80s it was with with homegrown players. Are we a club that suits this way?

Mark let’s not look too much through rose tinted glasses. We started the 80s in the second division and by the end of the 80s we were going back down. We had one great season finishing third a couple of top half finishes and the rest were fighting relegation. Besides the PL is a different proposition to the old Division 1. We need some skill, some creative players, we just need to get the right ones, something the club has not done well.
