So, its looking more and more inevitable that come Jan or next Summer, Declan Rice will be on his way to Chelsea. Question has to be, who do we get to replace him and what do they do with any remaining cash. Personally, I'd like tos ee us get a couple decent wide men maybe, NOA LANG AND DAICHI KAMADA. Seko Fofana as his replacement and couple full backs

Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta should be our direct replacement for Rice. He can break up play, tackle, pass and defend. He's can also score and assist as well as being a free kick and penalty specialist.

As genuine a box to box midfielder as it's possible to get and I reckon he'd do really well in the PL, both technically and physically.

Wasn't a bad game tbf, we were wasteful on several occasions and the defence still gives me palpitations sometimes but overall it was a solid performance away from home. I'd really like to see Rice, Downes and Paqueta all start v Fulham though.

Oh and Areola just has to be #1 from now on. Not trying to dig Fabs out but I'd wager that Areola would be worth more points over a season to us than Fabs.

I thought Downes looked good tonight and he was signed to take over when rice goes, if he can break up play and defend this will let soucek get forward to score goals and not sit back.
Benrahma fluffed his lines in front of goal, all to familiar for me as does some good work but in that final position he cannot find the net or the killer pass. Overall a good team performance against a decent side.

Soucek was good against Wolves, can't see Moyes dropping him now when he could be getting back to what he was.

Really like the look of Downes and we were all surprised he didn't play it the last europa game after a MOTM display against FCSB, he's soo much better on the ball the ball than soucek he will definitely link better and get the ball into Paquetas feet more.

Great that we have genuine options now to rotate. Rice Downes and paqueta would be tidy.

Wouldn't mind seeing downes sit then have Rice and Soucek both box to box either side of him giving them both the freedom to attack.

Scamacca was quality when he came on again last night.

@daisy, seko fofana is much more attacking than rice we will need a ball winner if/when he goes. Onana would have been perfect.

Would love us to sign a pacey winger that can carry the ball. Lang we've been linked to would be shout but supposedly attitude problems. Seen we were linked to the young ukraining winger Mudryk he looks quality as well.

I think we have Areola to thank for the three points. After several blown chances, mostly from Benny, that world class save kept us in the driving seat. Bowen also had a bit of a shocker and I’m amazed he stayed on so long. We had glimpses of brilliance from Paqueta and Scamacca after they were introduced. In particular, the latter showed us the difference between a real striker and one who tries to fill that role. I thought it was a crying shame that Moyes didn’t leave Antonio on when he brought on Scamacca. A perfect opportunity to see if the two could link up and form an effective strike partnership. Overall, a better than average performance as a team. Things can only get better.

Against teams like Fulham I don’t know why DM doesn’t try 4312. Midfield could be Rice, Bowen, Fornals with Pacqueta in front and Scamacca Antonio up top. He now has the personnel to try different formations other than the 451 his career has done.

I don’t think Fornals has done anything to be considered as a starter, and to be honest, neither has Bowen so far. Downes should be in the starting XI.
