Rumour has it we have placed a bid for an African striker? I know a certain Colombian striker who plys his trade in Scotland I'd like to see pull on the claret and blue shirt! Not very disciplined but I'm sure pellegrini can calm him down! How many goals would he have scored with out those bans, I know it's scottish football but you still got to score

Morelos for being quite small and quick definitely makes his presence known I think he would be a big hit with the fans. I watched his highlights 3 minute video for all 30 goals and then a 17 minute video for all his cards to be fair a lot of his cards and sending offs were soft and poor decisions a lot of the decisions would rule in his favour with VAR. Just seems there was abit of an agenda with him. I'd definitely take a chance on him his fight and graft would endear him to the fans and can clearly finish He would be good cover and or a partner for haller that could be a fierce combination.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 11:41:21
Bob/ Iron, strongly agree with both, I love a terrier on the field, especially when they can score as well, as you say what a combination if he could be calmed down somewhat, I would have him as another addition double quick👍Get him if possible⚒⚒⚒COYI.

3.) 18 Jul 2019 13:36:26
Apparently Ex has said something about him being available for £4m or £5m. I’m not sure I understand why when Gerrard valued him at £20m.

There are also reports that he is an ar*ehole in the dressing room.

4.) 18 Jul 2019 14:06:27
I quite like Morellos. Was shocked Ex said he could be got for 4/ 5m.
The African striker I believe is Ben Yedder, could be Marega too I suppose but know we were interested a couple of years ago.

5.) 18 Jul 2019 16:55:56
I think you’re right about Ben Yedder. Good player, not yet over the hill, but he would still cost a few bob.

6.) 19 Jul 2019 06:39:07
we have done gt business so far i'm sure Pel. has his eye on other players he wants tu bring in.
As it says on a dollar bill, IN GOD WE TRUST
On our shirts it should read. IN PEL WE TRUST.

7.) 19 Jul 2019 08:42:21
If it is Morellos we may be linked with, Rangers will now up their fee after the hat trick on Thursday even though it was against a Pub team! âš’âš’âš’.

8.) 19 Jul 2019 09:57:07
We have no cash left to spend according to C&H. I can see a couple of loans coming in, or maybe the odd free.

9.) 19 Jul 2019 10:54:22
African player you mention may be Youssef en-nesyri. Think exwhu employee mentioned him or seen a news article. 4-5m seems low maybe as upfront payment then lots of add ons. If we make up the majority of the valuation with performance based add ons that would suit us nicely the better he performs the more rangers get and less risk for us.

I don't believe the c&h article about us having nothing left. If the right deals become available we will find the money.

We might still get a decent amount for obiang but based on what I've seen I'd feel more confident of him coming on rather than Sanchez he never seems to no what's behind him. That cost us points last season when he did play and seeing the same in preseason now doesn't fill me with confidence.

Business not done yet the fact we are being linked to players early to mid twenties is refreshing bodes well for the future makes a lot more sense than how we have conducted business in the past.

10.) 19 Jul 2019 15:24:51
IronAl, just saw your comment and looked him up - you may be on to something! Not so sure he is worth it though? He does fit the bill though, player Husillos knows and scored 1/ 3 in a decent European league.
Morellos- he is rated quite low because (sorry to say it) the Scottish League is not highly rated. Despite scoring 30+ goals last season, he is still only valued at £2.7m on transfermarkt. That being said, like him as a player, is young and could do a job for us. I reckon 5-10m would get him.
I too don't believe the 'no money left nonsense' we had the same last year after Diop/ Anderson and then bought Balbuena, Fabianski, Yarmolenko and Sanchez (maybe forget the last one! ) I believe in total we signed just shy of 30m worth of new players after we *had no money* Will be the same this year - sign two strikers for about 20m total.

11.) 19 Jul 2019 18:52:07
Agree Glen re the no money left, standard business talk, very sensible, you don’t want to flaunt “money’s no object”👍 if we assumed we maybe have £15m plus a little more in reserve, we can surely get at least one maybe two in that are half decent as backups? I could think of several but of course it’s who wants to come, it’s who is available, very difficult I know, but if we get nobody else, we should still be able to compete with what we have, it won’t be a catastrophe? ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

12.) 20 Jul 2019 08:43:16
Yes, agree 100%
Reckon one signing and one free/ loan striker if we shift Chicharito.
Dont really see what else we need? Good squad, depth in every position if we get a couple of strikers in.

13.) 25 Jul 2019 09:50:27
Morellos would be a great signing . He is aggressive scores plenty of goals and will be relatively cheap because playing in Scottish Pub League. I agree his disciplinary record isn’t great but I also think he is a marked man up there. We did well when signing a nutter from North of the Border ( via Sheffield Wed ) , and whilst he hasn’t PdiCs skills he finds the back of the net more often .
We can’t lose much if we need to move him on, and his wages aren’t likely to break the bank . But I think he will do ok, he can’t be any worse than the dross we have seen masquerading as strikers of late . We paid £10M for the one we bought from Preston who has managed 3 appearances and no goals which would make a fee of £20M if we had to pay it seem a steal by comparison . We certainly won’t need to pay him the money we paid Carroll to be constantly injured or I would guess the blank firing Zaza who Inter tried to sell us .
He must be a better option than Llorente who only got games for Tott because he was bad enough to be content bench warming when Kane was able to play.

Solskjaer basically saying he is going to field weakened teams!
This could have a big effect on our outcome.

Bobbywhufc

1.) 08 May 2021 08:49:37
Shouldn’t make too much different. We have to win all four games, Chelsea lose today and then we are chasing the loser of Chelsea v Leicester.

2.) 08 May 2021 11:42:48
We have to concern ourselves with our results.

That’s the post.

3.) 10 May 2021 06:42:06
We were never catching Chelsea, Leicester need to lose 2 of their last 3 games for us to stand a chance, Man Utd and Chelsea will field weakened teams as they have other concerns, if Leicester were playing a full strength Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs then I would still fancy us challenging, yes we do have to win our 3 games but that is very possible.

19 Apr 2015 14:20:00
This is probably the worst performance I have seen as a fan! No heart, no skill.
Why can we not bring on youngsters who have got something to prove! Reece Burke, Elliot Lee, let's start playing them as the 11 that are on the field obviously cannot wait for the Holidays, as it's such a hard life being a Pro footballer! July 2nd our new season begins( which could ultimately see us relegated). Let's look forward to that!

Seems a recent poll suggests tht 87% of west ham fans want a change of manager and of those who voted this is how the vote went

1/Rafa Benitez 24.23 per cent

2/ Slaven Bilic 21.1 per cent

3/Marcelo Bielsa 19.68 per cent

4/ Sam Allardyce 13.35 per cent

5/David Moyes 9.74 per cent

6/ Eddie Howe 7.83 per cent

7/ Roberto Di Matteo 4.06 per cent

It seems therefore that Rafa is the favourite of the fans but is he a realistic target

26 Dec 2014 23:11:23
Firstly!

Pretty disappointing display today against Chelski, I don't like the fact that we field a "weakened" side because they are Chelsea. You do not drop Song and Sakho and expect to get a result.
Let's hope this is a one off as I would prefer us to lose 5-0 and at least have a go.
Secondly, let's thank god we had Adrian in goal today otherwise we would have lost 5 or 6-0, at least one hammer an walk of proud of their performance.
Now let's go at Arsenal and go for the win, we can stay in fourth spots lot longer by attacking.
COYI

Bobbywhufc

1.) I think bfs let the fixtures list dictate the team selection more than likely thought we are more than likely to get something from the arsenal game.
i would have preferred bfs to have played song alongside koyate downing at the top of the diamond a lot of prematch predictions were if west ham want to get something from this game we need to get the ball out wide which we did in the last 20 min hope we perform better today against the gooners

2.) Shocking displays will continue as long as we play Carroll

Drop hm and Nolan and don't renew the Allardyce contract

09 Nov 2014 20:36:14
If anybody looks at the citeh page, apparently they are in talks with us to sign Sahko!!
Obviously I am a massive Sahko fan and would love to see him stay for a long!! BUT!! If we can do a deal where he goes at the end of the season then I would seriously consider this, either way we are in a win win situation.
If he stays then we have bought a bargain for 4.7 million, if he goes and this mugs up north want to give us 25million then that has to be considered!!
COYI

Bobbywhufc

1.) He is worth more than 25m over the years of his contract, its roughly another million quid for each place finished in the league table alone! His goals are why we are 4th at the moment so for me, don't sell (that's if this rumour is true, can't see why Aguero / Dzeko aren't sufficient)

13 Oct 2014 12:52:44
What's the news on Andy Carroll?? Personally I would like to see him and stay and play alongside Valencia and sahko, there's loads of goals to be had there with the variety of striker available. Remember that Carroll is unplayable when on his game, he just needs a bit of luck keeping injury free.

Let's go with Adrian, jenkinson, Tomkins, Reid, cresswell, song, kouyate, downing, carroll, Valencia, sakho.
Subs: Nolan, noble, demel, Collins, jussi.
COYI

Bobbywhufc

1.) Sounds good to me

2.) 14 Oct 2014 09:28:55
I heard whispers that the injury is actually a part cover up and that he has actually gone to rehab for a drug addiction. We all know he loves a party

I'm not saying this is true, just whispers that are being heard

3.) R91 this was almost certainly the case last season as I heard the same news from a couple of very close sources

You must have to much time on your hands, why would we guarantee Onana first team football, Everton can because they don’t have a midfield! In my books we dodged a bullet even if he turns out to be a superstar, players should want to earn their place in the starting 11.

If we believe all the rumours we should be signing at least 20 before the end of the window, let’s be realistic hopefully we will get 2-3 more players in but if not then it is what it is, move on and what will be will be.

Everyone getting excited about 2 losses but they are a tough 2 games (champions and newly promoted), we should of beaten forest with ease, just did not have the luck with us and against city we held our own for periods of the game.
We will win and lose games as we always do, we are West Ham and that’s the way we are.

I agree that Haller was indeed far from a dud, I just wish they had tried a system that suits his style of play . He knows where the net is given the right ammo.
I also agree that if we do not get any signings then it will be disappointing but that’s all, let’s not forget that money has been spent and in some cases very poorly but in some cases very wisely, West Ham we’re in a heap of trouble before gold and Sullivan baled them out, we could be playing lower league football right now but are sitting in 5th! It’s a great time to be a West Ham fan right now and long May it continue and if moyes is being careful then he is doing ok in my books.

I wouldn’t be upset if it was cancelled, zouma is not a bad player but he’s not a stand out addition.
I would rather use diop and give him more chances.

Do not really see the point in signing a player who is ineligible to play for 9 months, that is a waste of 9 months pay!

Sam Johnstone all day long for me, proven keeper in premier league.
My priority would be a keeper and a couple of strikers, if we can pick up another cb then that’s a bonus.

Let’s face it, onana cannot possibly get away with appealing the decision saying he thought it was his but it was actually his wife’s medicine, I would laugh that out of the room if I was on that board!

Johnson has to be subbed at half time, he is a liability!

If I were Liverpool I would keep targeting him as he is hopeless, don’t know what’s happened to him but going downhill fast, maybe the money has got to him and uninterested

I thought Downes looked good tonight and he was signed to take over when rice goes, if he can break up play and defend this will let soucek get forward to score goals and not sit back.
Benrahma fluffed his lines in front of goal, all to familiar for me as does some good work but in that final position he cannot find the net or the killer pass. Overall a good team performance against a decent side.

I actually think that pochettino would jump at the chance to go back to London, and he would be taking on a good team on paper, we have been unlucky with injuries but we now have a squad and we should still be able to compete.

As I said previously we are not looking that bad but no threat on opponents goal, soucek is out of position and was moved to DM in order to appease Rice, put rice back in his DM role and let soucek do what he does best and get in scoring positions, Rice is gone the end of this season so let’s not bow down to him in the hope he stays.
We should give Antonio, scammaca and cornet the forward roles, drop bowen to the bench as he has offered very little and needs a kick up the arris!
Moyes has been s good manager for West Ham but I do fear for him as we look very boring.
We could always look at Rodger’s if he becomes available, would be a travesty if he got sacked considering Leicester have sold a load and not recruited, hardly his fault.

Confidence is low and moyes needs to take risks!

I would like to see scammaca and Antonio playing together, I am sure that Antonio occupying defenders would free up scammaca.

My team for next game would be

Fabianski

Kehrer Dawson zouma
Cornet paqueta soucek rice lanzini
Antonio scammaca

We need soucek to push forward and rice to sit back, play to their strengths and not to where the players want to play.

Paqueta needs to relax and stop trying too hard, his game will come.
Need to get a few wins and confidence up otherwise I fear for moyes as we cannot get dragged into a relegation battle and it creeps up on you.
Team are generally playing ok without any threats to opponents goal,

Soucek has lost his way since Rice was asking to be the one going forward, for me he should be defensive midfielder and let soucek attack and get the goals, players should not be telling the club where they want to play, especially ones that are more than likely going to be on the move, soucek knows where the goal is, puts his body on the line to try and score goals, for me that is not in rice’s armoury.
