The Budget spending figures are just one side of it it's the Balance deficit figure that has importance WH hope to finish 65/ 85 m behind might even be better than that we will have to see how it finalises IRONMIKE.

is there any home based targets? a lot of foreigners signed that are exciting players, but they take time to adjust
is yarmolenko for example going to be any better or much cheaper than say a nathan redmond, olly watkins, ben brereton?
stuaro or the couple of midfielders going to be again chepaer or better than say a shelvey or ben pearson, harry winks, ross barkley, danny drinkwater?
yes a couple of young exciting championship players there, but they have as much chance as adapting to the epl as do bigger foreign names.

We've just signed Wilshire and Fredricks. Both English talents. Yarmolenko had really good stats before his injury at Dortmund, better than Pulisic who's looking at a big money move. He's also played at a lot higher standard than the 3 wingers you mentioned and is a full international for Ukraine. At 17.5 mil he is a bargain.

Some decent names there fishy1982, and on the whole I agree with you. Home grown talent has always been my preferred option, but British players always seem to come at a premium. I mean, rumours suggest Newcastle would want £35 million for Lascalles and Southampton are about to spend £18 million for Vestergaard. Both roughly the same age, both physically strong, both good in the air. Is Lascalles worth just shy of twice the price?

Don’t get me wrong, players already used to the demands of the league will in theory settle quicker, but there is more chance of getting a bigger bang for your buck looking outside the country at players with the attributes to be decent in England.

Yarmolenko is 100% better suited to the premiership than the bundesliga. he is tall, physically strong and not afraid of a challenge. I think he is a very shrewd signing if we pull it off. Personally I’d rather him over someone like Redmond, who even though he has the experience, isn’t really an improvement.

Sturaro from Juventus, I am not so convinced on. I agree with you, I’d rather sign someone else. I’d love to see us go for someone like Shelvey instead. Again though, Newcastle won’t want to sell to someone they see as being competition and will drive up the price. Personally I think Drinkwater would be a better addition in a more defensive role, but he is on high wages at Chelsea. Likewise with Barkley who is obviously more attacking.

Like I said personally I’d be looking at players with the attributes needed to succeed in the premiership, and if you can couple new faces to these shores with a few additions familiar with the league then I think we are hedging our bets well. Steven N’Zonzi if Sevilla would be a midfield target for me, he has experience in the Premiership, physically strong, good on the ball. He is 30 this year which might put some off, but signing another untested central midfielder like Dendoncker or Carvalho as well wouldn’t seem such a risk.

shevchenko was an internatioanl, so was flacao and countless others, all played at higher levels than say a jamie vardy, rashford, kane. who would you take tho?
it wasnt a complaint about players we are signing as they seem very exciting buys, just a query as to if there was any home grown players we are showing interst in.

Question for the eds i see bruno has resigned or extended his contract for 5 years. As he was once of few players who wanted to cancel their contract does that mean he would have been a free agent and sporting would have had to give him a sign on fee or just continue previous contract he was already on?

{Ed002's Note - No, these players are not "free" - I don't know where you get this from.}
