So our 20 goal a season striker is now a championship player who spent half last season injured lol, doesno matter who would've played up front tonight we created nothing really plus we nend to sort the defence out first that was way to easy for city

How the hell is buying hogan going to make
any difference to that pile of crap,
We need a frigging RB, centre half, play the
strikers that we have Fletcher and Martinez
give them a go, hogan will only be a sub behind
carol anyway!
What is going on with this club!

whilst I agree Hogan is a reasonably good player, and his experience of English football will help him to settle in the league quickly. the guy has only ever played in lower leagues (only the last 2 seasons in the championship, the rest in league one) . He has also only managed 33 league appearances since the start of the 2014/ 15 season for Brentford. He is another injury prone striker, have we not learnt our lessons with Carroll and Sakho?

I get the fact the club is wanting to sign players with English league experience, we've been bitten in the last transfer window by foreign players. So we need players that can come in with English league experience, know the demands with the English game and so on.

If the club is willing to spend £20 million on Dembele from Celtic, there are a host of talented, British players that could be bought who aren't as injury prone. Jordan Rhodes isn't getting a sniff at Middlesbrough, scored bundles in the lower divisions and is available for £10 million. Shane Long, has been playing premier league football for a number of years now, has bags of pace, a decent work ethic and is available for £12 million. Another couple of players we could consider (not necessarily available) with English league experience and an eye for goal. Dwight Gayle, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko (Roma are interested in Feghouli, possible exchange), Fernando Lorente (has scored a few for a struggling Swansea side)

We also need to sign a right back and a centre back to add to the squad

What a great article by DIE_4_WHUFC. We are a shambles and watching it week in week out is upsetting to see what has happened to our great club. No bite, intensity, challenges, and desire. Shocking performance by any standards. More is going on with this team of players than meets the eye. We have half decent players but they are not performing. The defence is all over. Reid is being pulled out wide right all the time helping Nordvedt who is simply not good enough. SB continues to play NORDVEDT at RB and he is useless. Feghouli in front or Antonio does not work. Sell Feghouli, N0rdvedt and Zaza. Get Trippier, Snodgrass and that will strengthen the right hand side. If SB can;t sort this which at the moment he can't then get someone who can cause this cannot continue. OUR HEAVIEST EVER HOME DEFEAT in the FA Cup in HISTORY. All is not good behind the scenes.

Finally, can we please stop messing about placing pathetic bids for players. If we want a player then pay the money and go get him.

If I could, Gold, Sullivan and Bilic would all be gone and replaced by proper investors and a manager who has agreat tactical brain and who won;t accept performances like that debacle last night. We were pathetic but as long as we keep filling the stadium and sullivans pockets they won't care. Enough is enough and don;t tell me we beat swansea 4-1 so can't be all bad! Swansea, Hull and Palace are the only teams we can look to so that we survive this season.

I'm sorry but am I the only one who thinks we need to address the defence.?
it was horrific at times apart from Reid who had some good moments but even he has a tendency to rush out and leave space in behind! . Whether or not its down to Adrain not commanding his defence I don't know. but it was a shambles!
just not good enough. and where is this Hogan going to play on the wing.? . they're not going to drop Carroll are they?

A good CDM would give both defence and attack confidence. Nordvet is not good enough and we can see how crucial the role is, look at Leicester without Kante.
Enoh from Standard Liege is a good shout, he is all about defence and he manages to keep Song out of the Cameroon National team. He also had some Premiership time at Fulham.
