Ed's, can you cast a little light and help me understand the loan situation at the moment please, because I am a little confused.

The Premier League loan rules currently state that Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.

The reason I am asking, Arsenal have supposedly agreed a deal to sign Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid, with Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid already, is that possible? Are they signing Ceballos permanently to facilitate this loan?

Also, with Matt Ryan also on loan at Arsenal from Brighton, that would make three loan players at Arsenal at the same time?

I understand there was talk that the loan restrictions would potentially be relaxed during the C.V. as a result of financial restraints, but I just wanted to clarify with you guys.

{Ed002's Note - The loan rules you mention apply to players from English and Welsh sides.}

Thanks Ed.

So I am assuming that means we could technically loan two players from foreign clubs this window?

{Ed002's Note - Sure.}
