I can see a side next year with Lanzini, Fornals and Wilshere interchanging positions to both support Rice and flow forward in attack.

With Anderson and Gomez also in attack, we will score goals.

bkkhammer, Wilshire is the biggest waste of money we have ever been stupid enough to bankroll apart from AC both of whom had big injury history problems! Wilshire has been useless for 3 years prior to us signing him on a huge 3 year contract👎👎⚒⚒⚒.

Wait and see, folks. I will be happy to eat humble pie if Wilshere doesn’t shine next season.

Sorry chelms I agree on most things you post but I'm with MARKRO on this matter I've always thought JACK is a very good footballer but he has to be told nothing more than dedicating himself 100% to trying to stay healthy and fit I know that some part of my statement is out if his hands with the luck of picking up knocks but I'm a firm believer JACKS life outside football hasn't always been professional and truthful regarding clubbing and looking after your body so if he doesn't give us availability for 30-35 games this season then I'd let go and say enough is enough . COYI.

Whorya/ Markro. I agree that JW has been an excellent player in the past, you can’t have played at Premiership and International level and not have have been good enough, I’m not disputing that👍 But he has long lost being able to sustain the rigours of Premiership matches for more than than a fraction of 90 minutes continuously for numbers of games due to injuries! I see very little use of players like that on such substantial wages, but of course that’s only my opinion. If he was an employee of mine turning up once a month even on an average wage he would soon be on his bike. Apologies Markro/ Whorya, can’t see it differently. ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

Appreciate your position and thoughts, Chelms, but I’ll give him one more season to prove himself.

My annual flaw in my optimism!

Chelms, TO DATE there is no argument that JW has been a waste of money. Hindsight is quite a factor however in that statement, given he had been relatively fit the season before. HOWEVER quite how BIG you think that waste of money is would be where i question you, as this is not even close to the AC bracket. We got him for free (signing on fee) and a salary. And i would have to check with Eds, but i believe that salary to be just 50k a week unless playing matches?
Max investment is £5m a year if on 100k a week, less if he is indeed on lower basic with a bonus when included in matchday squad.
A transfer like this with a salary like this is PEANUTS in todays game, and if we get just one season out of him in that time then it will be value for money, albeit still a disappointment we only get one season.

For me no matter how less amount of money we are paying we are still paying for a player that played only a handful of games (5 or 6 out of 38). With the knowledge of JW hardly kicking at ball at the gooners for the last 4 years I would have spent the money on a someone who actually plays. As it is they have still payed JW this year for hardly paying. I don't doubt that he could be a food player when fit but he hardly ever is fit!

Nickino, this comment has never been in hindsight, when I first saw we were considering him I posted on here what s potential waste of time and money with his injury history he would be! Appreciate your in depth financial analysis but what message does this send to other clubs and potential signings, come to WH and lay on the injury bench! I would have, Snoddy, Antonio, Noble or anybody that can actually be fit and available for selection! As Markro the forever optimist says “ I will be happy to eat humble pie should he ever manage to play and be influential in say at least 20/ 25 games over the coming season👍 ⚒⚒⚒⚒.
