I got to admit, I was concerned at the start of the window but we've had one of the best summers in memory. Still a few that apparently want and we still need a striker or two and full backs but, we seem to be a better balanced team without declan dare I say it. Fingers crossed we finish the window with a bang

I think every fan was worried most teams have replacements lined up there are question marks about potential outs cornets fornals ings etc the rumour mill seems to be doing over time in regards players is signing not signing etc fu:king painful loads of back room have left n load of seniors speculation want to leave fornals Antonio etc obviously something went on back of house,2 seasons ago Rice n soucek had a storming season between them .Last season everything changed rice was given licence to roam n soucek had to sit he refused to sign a new contract rice has gone and he has signed the contract thoughts hammers fans

Hmmmm, clearly SOUCEK wasn't happy and his performances showed. Here's hoping we get a couple more signings over the line in the next couple of days. I really like that GIMENEZ from FEYENOORD, hoping we get MAATSEN and latest rumour chruned up is that we are interested in KOSTIC (who of course turned us down for JUVE and look how that turned out)

If we don’t sign anymore does it matter? For Christ sake we’re not going to turn into ManC overnight! A win tomorrow at Luton May hopefully confound all the anti critics that’s been posting on this site and could be the start for a decent season for us?

Can’t say it enough times, we are WEST HAM, I’ve never known us any different from being a paying 15 year old fan since 1959! Although said before armchair only now, those that pay, go because they want to, if your anti, don’t go, simple! Those running the club know better than us!

Of course it matters! We are clearly in need of refreshing in certain positions just to maintain a decent standard for the whole season. And to suggest if we beat Luton Town we’ll have a good season is a little narrow minded. We SHOULD beat Luton Town every day of the week. We need to buy one or two more to give us the depth of squad not only just to compete in several competitions, but to stand a chance of doing well. It’s called modern football in 2023-2024, not 1959!

The debate is interesting.

Should we sign a CF and a LB? Yes, because that’s where we need to strengthen. Am I going to be happy with this window if we don’t sign anybody else? Yes, I am. We have done some excellent business.

Arguably, Steidten has been our best signing this window.

Think Fornals will go due to him only have 1 year left - shame I like him as a player. Cornet (what a waste of money) could be Everton bound. Think that will be our business done. Our squad is a lot stronger than last year and we've got rid of much dead wood.

It’s you that’s narrow minded Tinlegs, you haven’t a clue about people or Football, your main concern is what can I moan about!

Fornals has been an excellent servant for the club, and a really nice bloke, but he’s too inconsistent. He’s also weak in a one to one tackle and he gives the ball away far too much. The time is right for him to move on and I doubt he’ll be missed. As for Cornet, he had the misfortune to get a fairly serious injury and then he didn’t get a real chance to settle in the team. Probably best for him to go elsewhere as he’s now moved further down in the pecking order. I’d be really sorry to see Kehrer go if there’s any substance in that rumour. He needs a run at right back.

Chelmsford, I, like you, am now reduced to being an armchair supporter, mainly due to health issues, but, I think looking at our squad we can ALL see that we are still light in certain positions. Antonio has started really well, but with his injury record he won't last the season. Danny Ings doesn't offer very much I'm afraid, so we need a striker. Same issue with full backs where we are a little light. We are West Ham and we've had a great window, i'm merely suggesting that we could still add a couple of players in positions of necessity. And of course if Cornet, Fornals, Cresswell AND Antonio should leave, we are quite thin in certain positions. As we all know, with europe aswell, it's a marathon not a sprint

Oshee, I wouldn’t dispute what you say at all, it’s not what you say it’s the way you say it?Tinny insults people in his wording of posts!
But I still say we are WH.
Personally I still love Antonio but he is knocking on now, we have this new supposed striker Kudus although I read he is midfield but can score goals, we all know you don’t have to be a centre forward to score goal, also the youngster Mubama!
I would also like Fornals to stay and Cresswell as back ups, we can’t have all brilliant players!

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! So now, Chelmsford, if we disagree with what you say, we know nothing about people or football! It’s called a difference of opinion.

TinLegs, you go on about needing to sign better players than we have, one thing you seem to be forgetting is we are on the European FFP watch list (more stringent than Prem) also FFP watch list in the premier league, so where are the funds coming from? In my opinion we have good backup in all positions as Kehrer can play right across the backline, midfield we are okay and up front we have Antonio, Ings, Mubama and players that have played up front successfully, Bowen, Cornet and Kudus.
Personally I found your post to Chelmsford rather rude and that is why I decided to post this.

Note to all. Please remember this site is for people to voice their opinions not for people to abuse others. Not that it matters but I am old enough to retire but haven't, I am in ill health but as a season ticket holder I still attend most home games despite living a fair way from the ground, in case anyone on here decides to call me out for being an armchair supporter.
Please everyone, read back what you have written before you post to ensure that nothing offends other wise people will get fed up / upset and this site will die.

Gerry,
You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that right. However, I wouldn’t dream of suggesting you know nothing of people or football just because I disagree with it. Where was I rude please? If it’s my use of the term “narrow minded”, I stick by it. I genuinely believe Chelmsford’s belief of a win against Luton indicating a good season ahead is somewhat simplistic and naïve. Narrow minded I think is a polite way of putting it.
As for your point about the FFP situation, I believe if you read my posts, I clearly indicate some players have to be moved on in order to balance the books and the numbers. But thank you for your observations.

Hi TinLegs, thanks for the response, FYI the bit I found rather rude is Chelmsford said it could be the start of a good season if we beat Luton not we would have a good season which is what you replied, also about it being 2023/4 not 1959, not being funny but I guess Chelmsford is nearly 80 years old so I admire him for being on here, I know loads of people his age that won't go near a computer never mind post on a site. Please everyone have respect for peoples comments regardless of their opinions. I mostly read rather than post as you are all probably aware but have noticed loads of people leaving this site for one reason or the other over the years, MikesIron was the latest to go as people were having a go at him for his views, for the record I didn't agree with him but still enjoyed reading someone else's opinions and sad to see yet another poster leave.

Understood Gerry, but I’m 73 myself! My point about 1959 was meant to highlight that football has changed a lot since my younger days. It’s a whole new ball game nowadays!

Whats Coronation Street LMAO?
So, with approx 15 hours to go, The Saudi's are showing a very Keen interest in NAYEF AGUERD? Bit late in the window for replacement so nothing happening there.

I reckon we are about done this window which has been a great success.

I still feel we are a bit light in the striker position and LB is a concern, but, we have what we have and me, am looking forward to a really positive campaign full of ups and downs, after all, we are WEST HAM LOL :-) and we don;t do things the easy way lol

Gerry.P, Thank you very much for your input about my post to Tinny, you re exactly right as you said, I merely posted “it could be the start of a good season for us” not it would be? I personally think you should be open minded about everything in life and accept that things can change for the better or worse, not get stuck in a time capsule!
I have not been an admirer of DM’s tactics at all and have said so on here, but would I rather see us win and be less attractive to watch and be successful, stay in the PL, yes every time of course, wouldn’t any fan of any club, nothing exciting about being relegated?
Thanks again Gerry?Let’s hope for 3 points tonight?Yes I become an Octogenarian next April??

We had a good window was really worried with the way it's started and think we could have done better but think Tim could be a really game changer in the way we do transfer business
I hope we can bring 1 or 2 in today especially if any are leaving we all have opinions on were we needed to fill but if we have to wait until January to get the right player over the line it is what it is
Come on you ⚒️

Tinny, thank you for your post of Birthday wishes next year, very nice of you?If I make it??

Yes and certainly couldn’t agree more about playing attractive Football and winning, but if I had to choose between getting beat and being good to watch or getting results and being less attractive, I would choose the latter every time?No guarantee how long you will be stuck in the Championship with numerous jobs lost, my Son-In-Law is a Forest man& knows that only to well?
Home or away it’s always a better Journey home with 3 points in the bag?
