For several weeks now the rumour has been that the board has set a target of six points from the next four games in order for Moyes to save his job. I think he could be toast if he loses the next two games.

In all likelyhood we are going to lose the 3 league games v Arsenal, Brentford and Leeds, and then most likely the FA CUP Tie to Brentford so its all going to rest on the Wolves performance or the following Everton. Personally I think the board already has a good idea of what's going to happen, problem is that for them their is simply no suitable replacement at the moment.

Moyes must be laughing in his sleep worrying about getting the boot if these 3 game threat means anything! 59 years old, contract until 2024 on £4m a year, what an incentive to improve??

Fascinating post-retirement interview of Brian Clough on YouTube. He certainly wasn't one for waffle, and a lot of football managers could learn a lot from him nowadays. One comment stood out for me because it relates to not only Gareth Southgate, but also David Moyes. Cloughie said, “We can all talk a good game of football….but you’ve got to win something”. Never a truer word spoken. RIP Brian.

I like a Moyse, and I do not feel he deserves to be sacked, although you are correct. He has never won a thing. Having been involved in non-league football. A manager I played for who gave us fabulous FA Cup runs and a joint top in the conference when we should have gone up, never got asked to manage a league club. When he asked someone they said 'you generate money, builds stadiums, but never win anything.' That is a failing with Moyse. Like many of you, I am concerned that he spent significant money on attacking players but cannot remove the 451 instilled in him since his Preston days.

Liam Thomas on West Ham Zone writes in agreement that Moyes could well be toast if Brentford beat us in our next game. After our dire performance against Arsenal, it’s becoming obvious to even our board that a change of management is urgently required. Thomas suggests Pochettino or Brentford’s own Frank as feasible replacements. I think Frank might be a bridge too far, but Poch remains a possibility, depending on the negotiation skills of our board and the lengths to which we are prepared to go. Poch remains the highest profile name in the frame. If our board aren’t already opening discussions right now, they need shooting. Personally, my choice would be Frank, but he’s just agreed a new 5 year deal with the Bees and the compensation would be off-putting for our lot. Plus he might be perfectly happy in West London. Whatever happens, it is time to bite the bullet for the good of our club. The Moyes era is over.

Im just fed up with the same set up same tactics and same performance, if moyes thinks you can soak up pressure for 90 minutes and hit teams on the break for 90 minutes then that's exactly how long he's got as west ham manager good riddance when it happens not if it does, but happy new year to all of you hammers we deserve better.

True to form, our board are taking us through every stage of agony prior to pulling the plug on Moyes. We are now at the “thin ice” stage. Why they insist on dragging out the process when it was obvious to everyone weeks ago that he had reached the end of the road. The worst scenario would now be a draw against Brentford which would prolong the agony. Even a win (which would be a miracle) won’t save him. Sooner or later, he’s in the out tray. His arrogance is plain for all to see by his comments that we’re forgetting everything he’s done for us over the past 2 years! Maybe he should check our domestic record for the past 12 months. He bangs on about Europe when all we’ve done is get knocked out of a semi-final of a B class tournament. Our wins against vastly inferior clubs nobody has heard of, apart from Anderlecht who are not a patch on their old self, would be a disaster had the results gone against us. Basically, we’ve been nothing short of poor, but Moyes is acting as though he’s given us the World Cup. His lack of competence to handle the talented players brought in during the summer, is now screaming out since he’s just carried on exactly where he left off before the FIFA break. It must now be dawning on the West Ham boardroom what a millstone they have holding them back. Or do they have an ulterior motive?

Yeah I see moyes is trying to justify how well he has done in the last 2 years. Still, we have won nothing. The board have backed him and he has done nothing. The whole setup needs a fresh pair of eyes because moyes is clueless and gone as far as he can. Its annoying the board didn't act during the world cup break!

It must be a hard old life being DM feeling the pressure of being sacked with a £4 million pay off to go with the £19 million he's already worth how bad considering the struggles of the country at the moment.
