OMG! JOEY BARTON?. How to come crashing back down to earth after the high of yesterday. There's me dreaming about Bentley, D'Ambrosio, Song, Halilovic and Hernandez and apparently we're instead after Joey BARTON?? What an absolute waste!! If that goes through! Trying to get people like O'Brien, Nolan, Jarvis and Maiga off the books and push on to the next level. Big backward step! Pointless transfer! Bad egg! Ridiculous! Some people saying Barton having a medical. I am shocked with this. This is out of the blue. Why can't West Ham United do other transfers like this. No they have to drag them out

This is out of the blue because no one else wants him. He isn't too bad a player, can provide cover on the right as well as central midfield, but he is 32. If he signs - and it looks likely he will - I'd be unhappy with anything longer than a 12 month contract.
