Sadly, Areola is too costly to keep, wages wise. He has done really well in the cup competitions, esp Europe. Apparently, Johnson has been told to hang his gloves up, as he won’t play again until he leaves. Decent keeper and a good option for us.

Milenkovic would be a better choice than Tarkowski and wouldn’t break the bank.

The Lingard saga has been very quiet for some time now. He hasn’t pushed to come back to us, though I’d take him if his wages demands (and signing on fee) weren’t too excessive.

Belotti has a very good long term record, bags of experience and is a fighter. He would be a brilliant addition.

I’m still very keen on Hlozek.

Could be a few players out of contract who be worth a look
But we should have the main strikers we want picked and be ready to jump on it

The danger, as always, is to get our hopes up for an aggressively successful transfer window, only get increasingly frustrated as it nears the deadline.

I’m tired of, “We tried really hard, but just couldn’t get them over the line in time.”

So much depends on how we do in our current European campaign. Champions League football next season would open up many transfer possibilities.

If we want to attract top draw players then unfortunately markro then the wage bill goes higher as they command higher wage's that's what happens with success and if we want to progress to the next level then the 2 d's and Mr radlinsky and Mr tripp need to dig deeper and pay the wages that are needed for top class players.

{Ed002's Note - That is not really the driver. The club need to be playing at a better level (ideally Champions League - but that remains unlikely for now) on a regular basis and needs a huge improvement on recruitment and the scattergun approach which has persisted. }
