I understand that Moyes doesn't want to waste money. I understand he wants to bring in the right player. But it is like looking for the perfect girlfriend, sometimes they just don't exist. So we can run Antonio till he collapses or get him some support, someone to step in even for a game here and there with a view to getting the better striker later. It is the same at the back. Sometimes you need to go with what you can get and plan longer term. If he keeps waiting we will get no-one and will not be able to fight on more than one front.

After the game the press quizzed Moyes about Antonio, saying he looked out of sorts and tired.

In response Moyes said "there was not a lot he could do about Antonio being tired because he is West Ham’s only forward". Well let's see, how long have we had to bring another forward after letting Haller leave?

Why was Newman brought in if we cannot identify the right player?

Or, does it come down to either we are not willing to pay the prices (which is understandable but no excuse) or Moyes is just too picky or are we setting oiur sights too high

And if Newcastle can get Chris Wood in, then what are we doing cause he could have done a good job for us. He might not be first choice but, he could relive some of the workload. Good in the air, good finisher, strong, holds the ball up. And now I hear Newcastle lining up another striker

Completely agree a lot of teams have a few strikers to pick from. even if moyes waits and waits finally gets someone he thinks is the right fit there is no guarantee they will perform on the other hand we could take a punt on someone and they could turn out to he a top signing you just don't know.

We are also in negotiations to send Alex Kral back and get a loan deal for Danny Drinkwater, also rumours that Danny Rose will sign on for the rest of the season on loan lol Oh no, I remember, Moyes said Antonio is our main striker (Bizarre cause he isn't actually a striker) lol :-)

I doubt we would have met the release clause for Chris Wood and I'm glad we didn't better options at 25m. I heard that he has the same agent as trippier that's how Newcastle found out about it.

I think 6 of those players looked tired yesterday, and why cresswell was playing I’ll never know. He still look injured and unfit and was caught out for 2 of Leeds goals.
We need to get next week out the way and then there is a much needed rest, we should be winning those games if we want to keep in the hunt for champions league football.

Hopefully moyes will be able to get a couple of players in before end of this window.

My only niggle with moyes is he doesn’t give the youngsters a chance, instead of putting the ever useless yarmalenko on. Why not oko-flex or perkins instead of just the 2 mins at the end.

Diop that is funny. I actually took a look and they keep talking about Bowen’s assist, Antonio’s assists, but Diop has more than any other player this season. Shame they are all for the opposition.

Mad to think when Haller was sold we all thought Moyes had someone lined up that fit his style of play, 2 years on the closest we've got to bringing in a striker is a 33 year old Andy Carroll visiting his mates in the training car park.

I know he wants to be savvy but no inform striker is going to come cheap you may have to pay a bit over the odds but that's got to be a risk worth taking especially for a striker who's goals could keep us competitive across the competitions. Asking a hell of a lot from this squad but all the hard work could be undone by a couple injuries and fatigue.
