Does anyone know why we signed Alves seemed like a strange signing at the time?

I believe one for the future and is why he was loaned to Sunderland to get game time but has been recalled because he wasn’t getting time. Also read somewhere that Kratinsky has asked why we have players out on loan and at the same time are trying to buy players in the same positions, not sure if that impacts at all?

Well there's Kretinskys answer we are looking at players in those positions because they can't get games in lower divisions. i'm surprised Coventry couldn't break into the Peterborough team he looked good for us in preseason.

If Alves can't break into Sunderlands team then he shouldn't be anywhere near ours I hope kretinsky doesn't think these players are at the level they clearly have a long way to go.

Kretinsky is looking at the running of the club through fresh eyes and rightly so after investing £m’s in the club, I would as well! He’s possibly thinking WTF have they bought Alves for and he’s not the only one, I don’t buy into this “he’s one for the future”, what is our Academy for then, that can’t be bad for Academy players that are just average, earning £10,000 plus a week with no pressure on them, maybe the system needs overhauling?

Somebody is just hoping for a big pay day if that player becomes another Rice in the future, money wasted imo?

Agreed buddy, I don't know why we keep buying these young players, loan them out and then sell them?

Hiya chelms I don't understand why KRAL wasn't replacing SOUCEK in a defensive midfield role letting Rice to get forward now and then but we have got away with playing Playmaker who's 10 stone soaking wet and cannot tackle I'm talking about LANZINI I'm not saying you have to be a unit to play there I.e MAKELELE,KANTE but they can tackle chelms what's your view on this matey.

Whorya, I agree with you?As great as DM has done for us, I find some of his decisions baffling especially on subs unless they’re is an injury concern, that’s not a complaint merely a comment! As SDI said he’s non movement on transfers, obviously not knowing what’s going on behind the scenes, is like looking for the perfect girlfriend, they don’t exist and if they do, we certainly ain’t going to get him!

When I saw Dan Perkins come on, it looked like a schoolboy coming on, that’s fine if we’re 3-0 up, but that doesn’t mean the boy’s no good, just that we need beef up front that can rough and shake defences up!
I have previously posted when it became apparent Antonio was struggling last season, Mitrovitch (Fulham) Woods (Now Newcastle) someone that is not frightened to put it about, even Andy Carrol would look good now if he was fit as Mainlander jokingly posted??

Re Alves at Sunderland - 39 yr old Defoe would be ahead of him; and he is a striker haha
