Just some food for thought for those concerned at our lack of business so far this window.

The Southampton manager told BBC Radio Solent: “At the moment on the transfer market, nobody has money.

“Everybody wants the most money for his players when they sell so it keeps everything on hold. Therefore, a lot of players are letting their contracts run out and leave without money.

“This money is what smaller clubs are missing, it’s going out of football somewhere else, I don’t know, in the pockets of agents or wherever. This situation is not good for no league in the world. ”.

Everyone wants the most money for his players!? West ham sold a player we paid close to 40m for 2.5m ahah we'll probably sell Yarmo for peanuts aswell.

Iron. Al, Rumour that Fernabace offered £2m for Yarmo, cut our losses and get rid of mammoth wages, we can do without him as we have most of the expensive non playing time⚒⚒⚒.

All I can say is thank god your not anywhere near the F. A or West Ham United’s boardroom. You’d have sacked Southgate, most successful England manager since 1966, and you would give most of our players away for free. I knew there was a reason I don’t use this site anymore.

Southgate the most negative manager since 1966, he makes allardyces style of football look attacking!
If I was at the fa I would have sacked him after the Scotland game, we were poor all tournament except for shaw, Walker and maguire! Beat a desperately bad Ukraine side and everyone got excited about us, we were never in a million years beating Italy, they bossed us for 120 minutes of that final.
Grealish must be gutted he cannot get in to that team.

@chelms If you seen Yarmos performances at the euros youd think 2 million is a bargain and he did score some crucial goals that helped us stay up. I don't think he's the most consistent and not really a moyes type of player but I don't think we have to hastily get rid of him for cheap he will be handy with all the extra games. If said teams want him then they they are going to have to pay more than that are they going to get better for 2m elsewhere?

As for southgate comments not sure where they came from I don't think he's a great manager he made England hard to beat and probably relied on moments of quality to see us through. Mancini made changes that changed the game and southgate didn't really respond to it. He seems to have the respect of the players but tactically I have my reservations. Italy managed that game perfectly buying free kicks and making tactical fouls.

We can give it the good old to and fro on here as much as we like, and I, for one, like a bit of banter.

However, no matter the craic, I guarantee we’ll have 11 players starting the first game away at the Toon.

Exactly who they’ll be, nobody (including Moyes) knows yet.

Toon got beat 1 nil off a non league side and they played a team close to full strength!

We do need Yamalenko off the books. He had a good Euros so hopefully we’ll get £5-7m for him.
If he went for £6m and with the sale of Anderson, that’s approximately £9m in and £200k each week saved.
interestingly, all of Pellegrini’s BIG signings have ultimately flopped. Each showed glimpses of magic, but Haller £45m, Anderson £36m And Yamalenko £20m have cost £100m odd and we’ll get a return of about £30m. Can’t say GSB didn’t back the previous manager. Throw in Wilshire and MP brought POORLY.

Spot on Markwhu

We complained when GSB involved themselves in transfers and Pelligrini bought complete duds when left to his own devices.
