So here’s the thing:-

The media loves to exaggerate the reactions of passionate West Ham fans, though tbf, at times the fans do put themselves front and centre. Let’s get real.

1. Finances in the C.V. era are tight.
2. We have spent big in the last couple of years.
3. Our wages bill is debilitating and we need to shed some of it. Moving Wilshere on and the likely Anderson to Porto loan will help.
4. Deadline day deals fall through all the time.
5. We have a formidable first XI (ask Wolves and Leicester)
6. Our full squad lacks the depth we need and we are relying on staying injury free
7. The youngsters might end up getting some experience
8. We have until the 16th to consider EFL recruits, if they are good enough.
9. We are mid table now and will probably end the season that way.

All in all, I’m feeling pretty good about this year.

Agreed Markro

I think this is the start of something (I'm hoping ) That Moyes has had time with the squad and let go who he feels isn't good enough. I think terminating Wilshere contract was the best route as he's on 100k, with people like Declan (our captain and arguably best player) on 30k a week - surely that must piss him off sometimes. I would have kept Cullen for cover as he only had a year left on his contract and could have left next year, i doubt he was on high wages.

I'm hoping the money brought in from this transfer will be used in the next 2 weeks to get a player or two in from the league below who fit Moyes system (hard working and committed) . Then there is always time to strengthen in December/ January

Fully agree with your assessment on our starting 11, we just need a bit of cover in case of injuries.

I agree our first 11 looks strong but an injury to rice soucek or antonio would expose us we simply don't have the cover in those positions.
