Good Morning All

I have read a lot of the posts both negative and a few more upbeat, the way I see things is we are going through a very difficult time with this virus, money is tight all around, as much as i'm not keen on DGS, they are not the only club having to tighten their belts, I should imagine budgets and finances do not get a provision in case we have a global virus

In one post I read if we sell Rice we will go down, well I just don't agree with that, Rice is a decent player worth £60m in today's money?, probably but if we are relying on a DM to keep us in the Prem we are in more trouble than we think

The squad we have, yes it does need refreshing but it is what it is at the moment, we have got players that can create, score defend, maybe not what Moyes wants at present, but as said it is what it is, Moyes kept us up, we scored goals we beat Chelsea, drew with Man U with the players we have now, if he can get a couple in great, if not for me we still have enough to finish mid table

We can keep banging on about the sale of Diangana, its happened, a mistake maybe? but he has given Moyes some money to spend, if we struggle than we need to look at the players and coaching staff, not the owners who are doing what they think best for the club albeit not to many fans likening

We are not a Chelsea or Man C with money to burn, we can forget about the claptrap Brady embarrassing spouted when we got the stadium, until / if we get taken over we are what we are.

Im as disappointed as the next fan how this has all panned out, but Moyes is a decent manager and although we may not get the fast flowing attractive football we want, as long as we survive next season we can reset and maybe go again, apart from a few all the other clubs are in the same boat and I think our squad is just as good as 70% of the other Prem teams, even if Moyes had £60m to spend I doubt we would be any where near the top 8 anyway!

So as hard as it is and how frustrating at times we all get, I really don't think this is the right time to go at DGS taking into account what has happened financially in football due to the virus.

Agree, far too much doom and gloom over the sale of one lad who wasn’t with us last years, is promising but not achieved anything yet, and is in a position we have a lot of others in and he was the one we got an offer for. You can’t sell players who no-one wants to buy and we need some funds to get a defender if we can. I think DGS sold a dream that never existed but right now we are good enough to compete with the middle of the table teams, nothing has changed, and we might still bring someone in that can steady us a bit more at the back. This type of gloom shouldn’t be happening till January if we are in the bottom 3.

Great posts, you two. I agree with all of it. Like everyone else, I’d love to reinforce our defence and there’s still time for that in the next month or so until the window closes, but assuming everyone is fit in the current squad for the first matches, there is no reason we can’t start to gather points.

We’ve got some decent players. Let’s get behind them!

I do think we have a squad capable of having a good season but how good will depend largely on keeping players fit! The team were doing well last season up until fabianski got injured.

We have also added Bowen and Soucek both solid signings. So really if we can get 1 or 2 in at the back with the grady money we are actually looking much better than last season.

As for Rice I think he's worth more than 60m and if he was to go and not leave us time to get a replacement in we would seriously struggle. Selling Grady had a negative impact on the squad I'd imagine rices departure would be even bigger. Also we don't really have anyone else to play there we would be left extremely short in one of the most important positions.
