Lets face it we have a lot of deadwood at our club and I can see a large number of the following players leaving for pastures new this transfer window.

Roberto
Fabian Balbuena
Winston Reid - decent servant but can't be relied on
Arthur Masuaku
Aaron Cresswell
Jack Wilshere
Josh Cullen
Manuel Lanzini - shame really, injury really has set him back
Andriy Yarmolenko
Felipe Anderson
Albian Ajeti
Jordan Hugill - I'd use him in a deal for Eberchi Eze from QPR
Sebastian Haller

I am not saying we will get rid of them all this summer, but I can see a large number of them being allowed to go if offers come in for them. I just hope its early enough for us to actually sign some decent, hungry, young players for the start of the new campaign.

{Ed002's Note - Deadwood eh? It is a tremendous pity that some supporters show so much disrespect for players at West Ham.}

Absolutely agree with Ed here. So many on here talk about the game and the club like we are playing championship manager. I think it was Chelmsford who said everyone on here plays fantasy football. If we did the transfers recommended by most of you we wouldn't have a team. I'd be looking for my shinpads and then we would be in trouble.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I don’t think, for the money that those players earn, they are pulling their weight and performing.

Winston Reid has not played a competitive game since the 2017-18 season. Not saying he isn’t a decent defender on his day, but he doesn’t play

Jack Wilshere has played 18 competitive games for the club in two seasons. He’s a decent player but he is a waste of our wage bill.

Albian Ajeti doesn’t play because he isn’t thought highly enough, so get rid of him. The same can be said for Roberto, Balbuena and Cullen.

Players like Anderson just don’t cut it in the league and some fans (myself included) Are tired of seeing him pull on the shirt and make little effort.

I also said that we have a lot of deadwood at the club but never specified who I was deem deadwood. You’re assuming I meant all that list. I wasn’t. I was merely saying that those are the players I could potentially see leaving

I wonder if this will get posted?

{Ed002's Note - You start putting stuff like "I wonder if this will get posted?" and it is easier to delete your account than bother responding. You have no respect for players at West Ham - that is clear. Were you one of the vegetables abusing the board and throwing coins? They also had no respect at all.}

With all due respect there are 13 players listed there as players who you claim could be seen to be surplus to requirements at West Ham. With 0 potential additions bar Eze. That is simply not a sustainable way of building a club. Evolution not revolution spring to mind?

A couple of those I agree with, the majority I don't. Yarmolenko for example has been injured but when he has had chances he has had some glimpses of what he can do. Anderson has the ability he just needs a manager to get him to show it and have confidence. Haller definitely is capable and people up and down the country said when he came he would be a big hit in the Premier League, again he needs to be played, played with the right service and be managed. Cresswell Hammer of the Year only a few seasons ago and in the England squad. I could go on, but I think the biggest issue is we chop and change managers, we chop and change approach, the players need to be playing under a manager for a while and be given opportunity for stability. Success won't come overnight. We won't buy a winning side, we aren't Man City or Chelsea, we need to build and be stable.

you CANNOT keep changing your squad every transfer window with 6 or 7 players 2or 3 is all that's needed as players can take a little while to settle and you need stability and consistency. COYI.

I do think there are players at the club that are surplus to requirements and should be moved on. I do think there are players that we are paying a wage that contribute very little on the pitch.

As I said in my previous message (not the original post) I was not saying that the entire list of players are deadwood at not needed at the club.

It is my opinion that there are a couple of players on that list that are unlikely to ever pull on the shirt again (Roberto for example) and those are the players I deem to be surplus to requirements.

I also wasn't saying in my original post that all of those players are going to leave. In fact what I actually said in both my original post and my follow up post was that those were the players I could see the club allowing to leave if suitable offers come in.

I've been a season ticket holder now for 17 years, I have already renewed for next year, I will always support this club, I always get behind the team when they're playing and actually I have tremendous respect for the players. I don't think it is unreasonable of me to suggest there are players that I perceive lack the effort of some of the others when compared to others.

Lastly, to answer your question, no I wasn't "one of the vegetables" that threw coins and abused the board. I think the abuse and violence shown towards Gold, Sullivan and Brady is disgusting, they took the club from the brink of administration to a financially stable position. Do I agree with all of the decisions they made? Not by a long shot.

Do I think they are too vocal and would I prefer they conducted the clubs business in a more "behind closed doors" fashion, absolutely. Do I think they should sell up and let another investor pump money in to the club to take us to the next level? What football fan wouldn't like to see their club taken over by a rich consortium or individual that is willing to simply throw money at the club in order to win trophies?

However, if they end up staying for a few more years I am not going to complain, they deserve respect in the same way you do, I do and everyone else on this planet does. No human being is worth more or less than any other.

It is true that we all have views and that the range is wide. I don’t have a problem with that, in general.

We also have leanings towards certain players. For me, though I know it’s not necessarily a popular view, I would like to see us keep Lanzini. The fact that Moyse kept selecting him in the run in, shows that Moyse thinks he was fit and capable. He must be doing enough in training to impress. I am also a Haller fan. He wins more headers than anyone else and has an excellent first touch, BUT he does need other players around him to be at his most effective.

The Wilshire experiment has failed so far, but his wages and injury history mean that there will be no takers. The only way to move him on would be to buy out his contract at huge cost. I feel sorry for him as his body has simply let him down time and time again.

Anderson is an enigma. We know what he can do - he had a very encouraging first season. But he has not been on his game for a long time. If Moyse can’t get the best out of him, it makes sense to consider offers for him, but we will not get what we paid and that would be bad business.

If Roberto can get another gig in Spain, that would suit both parties.

Cresswell is pretty reliable and we should keep him.

Reports are that we have very little, or nothing in the transfer kitty, so we would have to move some on to raise funds.

However, I for one, would not be devastated for us to start with the same match day squad we finished with.

New players are always nice to think about, but reality doesn’t go away.
