Following the Sheffield Utd game and other observation of the season so far I would like to make some suggestions.

1 VAR - I believe VAR in general is a good thing but it needs to be controlled by the Ref on the pitch not the one at Stockley. Stockley should only advise and the on pitch ref must use the pitch side monitor to make the decision. Consistency can then be more apparent with only 1 person making the decision

Secondly the Off side decision must be taken against the 2 players same area of the body and this should be the foot. This would avoid the drop down lines and can be far more accurate. A player can't lean his foot where he can his upper body. This avoids interpretation as opposed to fact

Third the name should be changed to to VAD - Video Aided Decision - again this implies the on pitch referee is in charge.

Fourth the incident must be shown on the stadium monitors with the Refs discussion and decision being played over the stadium PA this will improve not only the crowds understanding but the managers, players and officials as well

RULES- In this instance I only wish to discuss the handball rule which to my mind is rediculous. Football must return to "intentional handball" as a foul. Again the on pitch Ref if he is uncertain can review the handball on the pitch side monitor, with practice this will become quicker as was seen with Michael Oliver last week

Clubs must make representation to IFAB so that these changes can be discussed at their AGM at the beginning of March.

Football cannot take another season of this rediculous rule.

Would love to hear all yo guys suggestions. If any of us can think of any other occasion when a goal was chalked off of any team I would be happy to produce a list and write to IFAB on behalf of supporters

It might well be simpler to describe this in terms of Del Boy

"WHO WAS THE PRATT WHO THOUGHT THAT UP AND WHO WERE THE PLONKERS WHO VOTED FOR IT".

{Ed002's Note - Much of this is what a number of clubs, one in particular, have been pushing for - pulling the power from Stockly Park and using pitchside monitors and letting the referee decide.

West Ham were the plonkers who voted for it - together with the other PL sides.}

Thanks Ed really appreciate all you do and your knowledge.

{Ed002's Note - I think it is a sensible solution that leaves the decision with the refereee.}

It's not VAR that's wrong with the game it's not clarifying the rules or making them clear the rulebook needs ripping up and being bought up to date with the modern game like the old ruLe if your level your onside that rule was never being used properly and the attacker gets the benefit of the doubt if level the rule book is out of date. COYI.
