THE POINT is RICE is worth more than that, with the upcoming changes to the rules . There will be a minimum 20% uplift on transfer prices for Homegrown players RICE is an extremely talented PROVEN defender at just twenty years old he's worth at least 75 m, WHAT some of you are not yet grasping, is we won't be able to balance the squad, between the two halves, on other HG players, that's a fact BIRMINGHAM are now looking at 25. M for CHE, who's never played premiership level, so where are we going to spend that money, and we have NO BODY in the U 23 at anywhere near that kind of level, That is the problem 12/ 13players Homegrown in the squad whom do we have ? Hmmm that's your problem IRONMIKE.

Mike if you could just to clear up can you answer the following please

1)How many HG players are required now in a squad, and does that only cover English players Not Scotland, Wales NI or ROI as HG?

2)In a squad does that mean a squad named for the match as in the new rules you will have to have 12/ 13 HG either playing or available for substitution

3) When do these new rules kick in?

4) Will they be a loop hole that the likes of Man C, etc will be able to exploit or will this be absolutely concrete

5) Will these new rules apply to the Championship, Leagues 1,2, or just Prem teams,

Apologies if this is common knowledge but just wanted clarification what these new rules will mean, especially the impact it may have on the so called bigger teams

Thank you.

THERE are NO new rules as yet the HG rules are what is Suspected to happen after Brexit , It is thought that nothing much will happen immediately. BUT will start to. change at the 20/ 21 21/ 22 seasons, I personally think that it will happen and a minimum of 12 HG players to squad of 25 is the. MOST likely to happen, There are massive advantages here for local players who’s value will be higher, and they will be the most sought after, It will apply naturally to the whole of the U. K. Loopholes? If there are Man City with respect will find them. BUT being localised, it would be easier for the FA to rub the loopholes out and launch massive fines, Similar if not identical rules will apply to all divisions WHILST we may eventually have a better National side because of this, SKY and BT are already pulling there Hair out as it may well see the overall standard of football in the premier slip And therefore the premier league may not retain its present NUMBER ONE viewer status IRONMIKE.

Cheers Mike, it may also bring the Prem back in line where as it may make it more competitive, rather than the usual suspects. It will also make clubs look nearer to home for players rather than go and buy some oversea player, hence scout properly in the UK which in my view seems to have been ignored

I personally welcome all of this, it gives our own HG a chance, plus hopefully eridcate lazy journeyman from abroad earning what HG can get.

Whats not to like about it? . Anyone have a different view?

We all saw what happened to Serie A when they put the brakes on foreign players and introduced HG rules. BSerie A was the best league but it still hasn’t really recovered. The PL need to work with the FA and tread carefully or the global money will drop off.

There’s plenty of arguement on both sides, WH need to start searching around at home MUCH MORE WE frankly do nothing much in the U. K. and this needs to change pronto, we also need to MAKE sure that no one we presently have right Down ; to the juniors escapes the net, we need to be 100%certain That we are not letting HG players go, and then, the player rebounds on us at a later date IRONMIKE.
