RUDDERLESS, WH, TRUTH of the matter, is it's become a mess, both off and on the field, with the season fast approaching, the manager, cannot sort his squad out , and he's not had the help he's asked for from the powers that be
TOP GOALKEEPER, for me is as important as a striker, we don't have one
TOP STRIKER, we don't have anything even remotely connected to that title
TWO TOP. Midfielders, we have nothing with leg. Power, to get up and down
OVERPAID BENCHWARMERS, we have plenty of those
POTTER, now thinking of playing AWB AND DIOUF in midfield, to try to solve a big problem
WH SUPPORTERS, unless there's plenty of transfer movement, this could turn out to be a long and difficult season coming up

If we keep Paqueta and Alvarez, and we don’t start with Soucek and JWP, our midfield could be ok with the addition of Potts and Earthy. As soon as the two muppets left the field against Man Utd, the midfield improved 100%. Potts and Earthy both need playing time in the Prem to gain experience, as do Marshall and Guilherme in attack. But is Potter brave enough, of does he have the know how to develop them? I’m not so sure. I’m not saying we don’t need strengthening, but we have some bloody good youngsters who just need handling properly.

If Paqueta leaves, Sullivan left to his own devices, will either hold onto the money, or squander it on some other over the hill players, we do have some decent youngsters, is Potter the man to bring them on, the answer is NO /YES, No he’s not the man to do that, , BUT if nobody comes in, he will have no choice other than to play them, so there’s the answer // Potter, in training he’s playing people in differing positions, to see if he can adjust things, for me he’s a poor fit at WH , but equally, he’s been let down badly by WH, who have not kept their word at all

As I’ve said early on, I think Potter hasn’t got a clue so he should be gone by Christmas. A decent coach will get the best out of our youngsters and if Potter hasn’t dropped us too far in the sh*t, we might just be lucky enough go avoid the drop. Time to get the worry beads out.

The starting line up could be pivotal tomorrow to how we do the coming season.
Add to Tin Legs list Fearon who was apparently the best of all the subs on Saturday. If this donut starts with Souchek and Rod and JWP then we are doomed but if he has the guts to start with some youth and Paq-man and Alvarez then he may have seen the light, and this season may not be such a disaster

Fearon is a talent, but he’s at least a season away from the first team as a regular.

I'm hoping like you Hammer-D that Potter has seen.the light

I come on here for good news, I leave wanting to slit my wrists. We all know Sullivan is a prick, and he’s having our pants down. So surely we’ve got to get behind the manager because like it or not he’s the only one we have and he also has had his pants down from Sullivan and sold a load of bollocks like the rest of us.

No, sorry, I don’t buy that. Potter is not blameless, even though he might have been crapped on from a great height. And he can be replaced. I’m sure we’d all get behind him if he displayed any talent, but so far he’s shown himself to be clueless. He demonstrates that by selecting Soucek, JWP and Rodriguez in his starting lineups. Let’s wait and see who he picks tomorrow. He might have an epiphany, but somehow I doubt it. Fingers crossed.

Spot on Tin.
I hear you Whitby. But, believe it or not I don’t just come on here to be negative about everything. Sullivan is the root of most of our problems. But that said, thus far Potter has shown himself to be so negative cautious and a bit spineless in his attempts to get us playing. I would be very happy to see him dropping said players in favour of a more front foot midfield with at least a-bit of youth, creativity and some tenacity . But he just seems to revert to this dire line up every time, even with all the dead rubbers at the end of last season. Einstein said the definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Even if he tried what Joyfull mentioned with playing AWB and Diouf in midfield it wouldn’t be ideal but at least he is showing he wants to address that issue, but last season he played many players out of position like Bowen up front, Kudus and Paqueta out of position and most times just didn’t work.
Let’s hope he picks the team that ended the game Saturday. I for one would be happy to be proved wrong and means I can stop coming on here and moaning

I know a lot of you probably think that I bury my head in the sand when it comes to what is going on at the club but I genuinely try and stay positive, it’s my default position in life generally. I can’t stand Sullivan as a person but I do see that a lot of his decisions he makes are what he thinks are right for the business and his families financial status. You don’t become a successful businessman by being an idiot nor can you afford to put sentiment and popularity before what you see is right. This guy doesn’t care about the supporters, or the players, or the manager or even what happens to the club in 5 - 10 years time. He is only bothered about what he can make over the next couple of years. He won't want WH to be relegated as it will devalue his asset. At some point he will put money in for players to be bought and at some point many of you may even get your wish and Potter sacked. The lack of investment to date this window is unfortunately in avoidance of repeating last years rubbish show when the Rice money and more was wasted. As for Potter. I always felt he inherited an absolute mess of poor signings, a key player mentally unstable because of trumped up charges, key players injured, dressing room discontent because the last manager didn’t know what he was trying to achieve and unhappy supporters. To this end I always and still feel he deserved a summer transfer window to implement what he wanted to implement before judging him. Time will tell ….

I don’t know much about running a business but knowing how football clubs originated and what they mean to the supporters, I don’t think people should be buying clubs and using them like cash cows. We have seen numerous clubs go out of business or close to, in the north west and the likes of Sullivan and the sports direct guy are not the correct sort people to be running a football clubs.
Maybe not legally but the clubs belong to the supporters.
Any boss worth his sort will learn that delegation is the most important thing. Let people do their jobs, stop interfering and sack when necessary.

Mate you are 100% right, I run my own business and was told many years ago if you don’t feel redundant in your own business you’ve done it wrong. Sullivan and Ashley types do treat clubs like cash cows because unfortunately those sort of characters have wheeled and dealt their way to the fortunes needed to buy them. There are some good owners out there too though, the guy at Middlesbrough springs to mind but they are sadly out numbered. We need a Ryan Reynolds type to come in an oust Sully and Co. Plenty of famous, rich West Ham fans out there, Obama, Herschsall, Lennox Lewis ….just keep it away from Russell Brand ?

13.) 30 Jul 2025
30 Jul 2025 10:14:05
??? yep he is definitely a toxic Brand
You are right sadly the premier league has ruled out the likes of Michael Tabor, Steve Harris and I think the Middlesbrough guy is Steve Gibson who is a decent fella. Sadly with the larger money needed the likelihood of ending up with a rich American wanting to turn us into a franchise and playing our home matches in West Virginia_……….

Listening to Talksport last Friday they said the Americans buying football clubs are doing so because they find the promotion/relegation system refreshing and quirky. Personally I don’t what the nationality of the owners are as long as the value and respect the fans and traditions of the club. Americans are notoriously fond and envious of British tradition, they may be the best bet

Incidentally do any of you Editors know how much revenue Tottenham make by hosting American Football games and why haven’t they been played at the London Stadium?

{Ed001's Note - no, sorry, not a clue in either point. It wouldn't help West Ham though as they don't own the London Stadium.}
