How this is still 0-0 I'll never know. The West Ham goal must have a force field around it! Man Utd should be out of sight. We look terrible.

Wow! What can we say? All that dancing around the totem pole and sacrificing a herd of cattle has finally paid off! ? Lady luck was with us today.

Our side after half time played so much better than the starting XI. Summerville must start in the absence of Kudus and, arguably, even when he returns. Give Kudus Paqueta’s no. 10 position.

Pacqueta Sojer looked really average today. Soucek blocked the centre and broke up play, whereas Summerville killed Mancs with his pace. MOM was correct although we felt AWB and Soucek were good

Totally agree. It was criminal that he didn’t start with Jimmy on the left. I also couldn’t understand why Todibo lost his place? What I have seen of him he seems a class player, although I didn’t see the Spurs game. Second half was really enjoyable. Paqueta has to be dropped.

Todibo had a late fitness test according to Exwhuemployee.

He was quality when he came on though.

Have to say first half we were very open and lucky not to be a couple goals behind.

Not a huge fan of the cdm dropping between the cbs with our full backs high seems to leave a massive hole in the middle of the park and alaverez nd rodriguez can't make up the ground. Feel like we may as well go with 3 at the back kilman mavro nd todibo all quick so we could play high and allows both alvares nd rodriguez to be more aggressive in there without having to worry about dropping between the cbs.

Summerville quality and should have been used more than he has been so far, when Kudus is back he needs to be used through the middle.

Your being complimentary, if we carry on like this game after game we will be relegated , let’s hope for a second half improvement

After the first half, would never believe, we could win this game, Loppy;s got pressure off ( for now ) three points more than welcome, Man U could easily have been 3/4 up by half time

Unbelievable how we won that game I'll never know but 2nd half was chalk and cheese from 1st I don't think Rodriguez and Soler are up to premier league pace and quality but TODIBO has to start as MAVROPANOS is totally devoid of any confidence and looks like a rabbit in the headlights and LOPPY was fearful for his job at H/T I'm still not convinced he's the right man for the job imo. ⚒⚒⚒ COYI

In a nutshell, JLop’s starting XI was appalling. Man Utd missed FOUR sitters in the first TWELVE minutes. The first half continued in that vein and were it not for Man Utd’s disgraceful finishing, the game would have been out of our reach by half-time. JLop made necessary changes for the second half and we looked more positive. Lady luck was smiling at us for a change and we ended up with all three points. However, against a better side the result could have been embarrassing. The good thing is that it’s obvious Todibo and Summerville must start, but I’m still not convinced Soucek should start in midfield, albeit his performance yesterday was an improvement on his recent appearances. Hopefully, this MIGHT be a turning point, but time will tell. COYI!

Once again I pretty much agree with everything you’ve said there Tinlegs. I think the problem with Souchek is that he’s probably the best in what is a very poor midfield Alvarez, Rodrigues, Soler and Pacqueta (I know you’ll disagree on that one ) are all struggling and exposing are defence particularly when AWB and Emerson push forward. Defensively and attack I think we have the makings of a great team but we are being let down by no pace or athleticism in midfield.

Agreed, and we are missing a pacey striker.

15.) 28 Oct 2024
28 Oct 2024 12:49:16
I’d rather invest in a couple of more athletic midfielders and see if Summerville or Kudus can be converted to a more central striker, both have pace

16.) 28 Oct 2024
28 Oct 2024 13:14:17
We need at least a creative midfielder and a centre forward with pace. Can’t agree with your suggestions. I’ve had enough of playing people out of their natural positions - Summerville is perfect on the left and Kudus plays best through the middle, coming from behind a central striker.

I thought Alvarez had a pretty good game yesterday. He was left exposed a few times as he was having to cover for AWB but always seemed to get back. Not sure a rodregez

Any suggestions on players Tinlegs? Some names would be great.

Agree here TinLegs, keep Summerville on the left 100%, he SHOULD have started for sure vs Man U IMO. The only explanation i can give for Summerville not starting is becasue J-Lop wanted a dynamic and quick player to bring on from the bench becasue Man Utd had played away in Europe during mid-week and players would likely get tired later in the game. Its very possible this was the thinking. He needs to start vs Forest though, and Guilerme will have to be the pacey legs to bring on if we need.
If we drop Paqueta then i'd try Kudus there ideally, but in the next two games i would play Soler there and give him some minutes and a chance to show what he can do.
Not sure why Soler was told to play out on the left vs Man U, he was a right mid who converted into a CM so i did not understand this. The only explanation i can give is because J-Lop wanted Summerville off the bench (as mentioned above) and wasnt willing to start Guilherme yet against a side like Man Utd at home, especially in an important game. Glad Soler was changed swiftly at HT though.
On Soler, i think he has not had the best chance yet to show his capability. He may not be world class but he is better than he is showing ATM for us. I think this is becasue he has mostly only been brought on as a sub and/or played as part of the two CMs in front of the defence. He needs to play infront of the two sitting CMs maybe?
Id play a ball winning mid 2 made up from Edson/Guido/Soucek and then a roaming CAM in Soler, Paqueta or Kudus. Right now with Kudus banned and Paq out of form that would mean playing Soler CAM for the next two games.

That sounds like a plan. I forgot about Guilherme and even if he is not the finished article he has something that most defenders can’t cope with and that is blistering pace. I thought if soler was played it would be in the centre, I doubt he is suited to the wing.

28 Oct 2024 16:39:54
Why oh why isn't GUILHERMRE not getting any game time we might as well as loaned him back to his brazillian club we bought him from, when ANTONIO was taken off put him on as INGS cannot play up front on his own, why do these managers get millions a year if the world and his wife can see this it's not rocket science it's there in black and white and he would terrorise defenders with his electric pace.⚒️⚒️⚒️COYI

Nickiinho/Tinlegs, hear what your saying about playing people in their natural position but personally I’m not opposed to a bit of experimentation when needs must astral Rice started out as a CB and Thierry Henry made a bloody good striker for a winger.

There's no doubting that it works sometimes - look at Arnie. However, we seem to be experimenting as a norm and there does come a point where one has to admit it doesn't usually work.
