Amidst all the differing views on the WH sites, I have been told, that Loppy Has asked for one more game, to get it right, this is definitely correct, however, only on a personal note, can't see any point in this 16 games he's had To get it right, Unfortunately I can see Sullivan going along with this, so for me, could well be a delay in the long goodbyes, if on the other hand, we get a result next Monday, the goodbye will be postponed, . as far as I'm concerned it's all pointless, after watching 4 games, all the incompetence of this manager was showing, the writing was on the wall then, he was a ridiculous choice in the first place, Sullivan. Needs to take it on the chin, and move on

Ok, a couple of things.

Firstly, if the board have congregated a meeting with the intention of sacking Lopetegui and Lopetegui has asked for one more game to get it right, then he is acknowledging he is not doing his job well enough, but thinks he is close to cracking it.

Secondly, if the board have agreed to give him one more game, then they must think he is close to cracking it as well. In which case, they probably don't see it as being a big risk, so what's the harm in one more game?

If they DON'T think he is close to getting it right, and they are still leaning to giving him the boot, then they either aren't close to bringing in a replacement or he has offered an incentive to give him one more game surely?

What you have just said Joyful, doesn't really make sense without context of why West Ham would consider giving him one more game. If you are implying that West Ham are considering it because it saves them a weeks extra expense in a termination agreement, then you're post has been possible since game week 4 as you just said.

What if our next game was against Liverpool, I doubt he would be asking for one more game it’s only because our next game is at home to Wolves which is a very winnable game that he’s asked for one more ?

Sorry die 4, Fully understand your post, but there’s no point in criticising me, but it’s ok if you wish to, I Can’t speak for WH board, can’t speak for Loppy, that request was made, I’m not in a position to. clarify peoples thoughts, and yes I did say that Loppy should have left after 4 games, along with just one other poster Tin Legs, and I have stuck to that opinion, whilst vast majority on this site, wanted to give him a dozen or more games, well they got their wish, and you can see what’s happened, I have also heard, that Steidten (not surprisingly ) has been told, that any impending meetings or business in conjunction with itransfer talks, should be frozen if only temporarily and with immediate effect, don’t know any more on that, been trying to find out some more about Todibo, apparently argument spun into orbit, after player was, picked out for various points, the first was no long balls out, which Todibo looks to be good at, try to keep possession, the players attitude went, into immediate retaliation, he hit back with lack of organising, the defence, and stormed out, much more was said but Bowen stopped it escalating, From this, and Loppy having words with Summerville Before, berating Todibo, we must assume overall feelings are not great, in the dressing room DIE 4, I have no idea, what manager is going to come in at present, 3 of the supposed candidates are asking for big money ( at this time ) . Potter and Allegri are two, of them, they want 200 k a week! don’t see that with Sullivan He’s more like 60 k, we will have to see how it all pans out, Kretinsky is now involved

I’d be very surprised if Potter wants £200k per week, Allegri yes, he’s managed at the top. Potter would do it for something similar to Moyes £65k

Look Potter might do it for 25 k, if he wants the job, and if he is wanted by WH, but it appears he has asked for a lot more, , Con si sow, that’s how it’s pronounced, and Terzic ask a lot less, for me it’s strange that no club, has gone for Potter, that might indicate something, was he a flash in the pan at Brighton? Allegri comes with credentials top defensive coach at Juve, I understand that the ex Porto coach and Terzic are top two for Steidten, but Sullivan went his own way on Loppy, so it’s unpredictable

That’s exactly what I’ve been saying about Potter. I have reservations about him being a possible ‘one hit wonder’.

Apparently his points per game at Brighton wasn't that impressive and both de Zerbi and Hurzeler have done better. Also benefited from the Brighton transfer set up.

1 more game agaisnt wolves? Wonder how many of their players will want to put in a big performance against him? Ait nouri for sure.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, he took over a team that was on the verge of relegation playing horrible, negative, defensive football. He turned them into the team they are and De Zerbi benefitted from that massively. It was noticeable that they were getting worse under him, while they had been improving under Potter. And Potter never had a striker worthy of the name, they would create multiple chances that would go begging. De Zerbi had Ferguson emerge and they bought some forwards as well.}

Joyful appreciate you say that you felt he should have gone after 4 games but that’s irrelevant and doesn’t make you some form of mystic. We had to give him more than 4 games otherwise we’d have been a laughing stock and what new manager would want to join f their predecessor only got 4 games? You say an awful lot of sensible things buddy and I appreciate and like your posts but in my opinion that one is wrong. Potter I’m not convinced on, he’s certainly not worth £200k. Terzic is a safe bet as knows Sullivans ways and is a Steidten choice so there could be no room for complaint. I’d be happy with him indeed but personally would slightly prefer Carrick as he ticks a couple of more boxes.

Dabber,
I’d heard that Terzic is preferred by Sullivan, but not Steidten. Nick on C&B seems to have the same info. Carrick was a name I wanted to replace Moyes, but then again I would have accepted the tea lady in preference to the Argyll Gargoyle.
Fingers crossed the board will pull the JLop plug, but I bet he’s given the Wolves game which we should easily win.

Good insight Ed, I suppose with Chelsea a lot of players were brought in also which probably doesn't help.

He could possibly work well with Stiedten.

Ultimately I think with Sullivan it'll come down to the best deal rather than the best manager and its being said that Potter may consider a short term deal to the end of the season which I'd imagine would definitely suit sullivan.

Personally out of the most recent names linked I'd of went for Conceicao but can't see sullivan going for that one with having no prem experience

{Ed001's Note - no one was going to succeed initially with Chelsea, there were just too many players brought in and too many egoes to manage.}

He'll get the Wolves gig, win handsomely and he'll be back in the game. That is my prediction for Loppy.
As I've said, I'd like Potter/Nolan.

Apparently he's safe for now as the meetings with potential managers didn't go well as non of then would take a short term deal.

Embarrassing really that sullivan thinks that an acceptable way to approach the situation is to get someone in who is that desperate they would take a a short term deal.

People saying Potter won't risk losing his Chelsea pay off for a 6 month deal.

The circus will never stop with this club until Sullivan is gone unfortunately.

One thing is for sure, the board needs to act and make a statement. Either publicly back him to the end of the season, or sack and move on to someone else (one of Steiden's picks NOT a Sullivan one IMO) . One last game, or these "you have 2-3 games to prove yourself" are pointless at this stage.
Worrying to hear the clashes in the dressing room. I am not sure if that is normal when teams are struggling and emotions are high so it is just a media opportunity to add fire, but if there is genuinely an issue then the people close to it should be able to see it, and that is enough to force a decision.

J-Lop simply didn't need to play the high line vs Leicester. I get that if a team want to perfect a style then they need to keep playing it and slowly mistakes will iron out and become fewer as players get better at it. You have to go through some pain to achieve the gain after all. BUT, he/we needed a result and Leicester are poor enough that we could beat them without playing a high line. We battered them, but ultimately it was the early goal that gave them belief and no doubt impacted our players. While it was a defender making the tiny milimeter mistake, IMO he should have been playing deeper anyway and not put in that position for this game. For me it showed a lack of awareness that results are more importantant than implementing his high line, quite a GLARING error of judgement.
While i didn't think J-Lop was the ideal choice (does that mean i have been right all along? like the sack after 4 game fans? LOL joking), i certainly supported J-Lop and i honestly wanted him to do well and have the chance to do so. I think he would have improved us eventually but he's not reading the room right now, and he is his own worst enemy with the high line. There is no doubt we are not far off where we should be points wise. My honest opnion is that we should have been 5 points higher at this stage, and in interest of fine margins that comes from only 1 goal which would have beaten Everton (+2 points) and the Leicester game (+3 points) which we easily played well enough to win. So it feels harsh if a manager has to go when points wise they are not far off, but ultimately it may be the right move.
As for a replacement, who knows. None of the options really inspire me as the right choice, my only wish would be for Stieden to get HIS choice seeing as he is DOF

We've been lucky in games as well though Nick, thinking of the man u game particularly I'm sure there have been others as well so I'd say we are about where we should be based on performance.

Leicester game was killed once we had a goal wrongly disallowed and they went and scored a second shortly after, don't think lopetegui helped with his substitutions either.

If its true Lopetegui has asked for one more game what happens if he loses will he walk and save sullivan the compensation probably another reason Sulli is happy to give him 1 more game.

And even if he wins does that doesn't repair the relationship with the players.

It's a shambles.

No question Iron.Al we got extra points at Man Utd that we didn't deserve, maybe tge disallowed Liecester goal was our payback. I felt confident a lot of that game that we were going to get one and then a couple more could follow. As soon as the 2nd went in though i expected a 3rd as we threw everyone forward, and that's what happend. Disallowed goal was indeed pivotal in that sense. 3rd was a mistake by Killman not Loppy at that stage, we were playing high yes, but at that stage we needed to take the risks. On another day and we cruise that game, Karma and all that LOL
