STEIDTEN - involved in an exchange of words with Sullivan, there's a very poor atmosphere behind the scenes taking place, Steidten refuses to take the can, for Loppys appointment, it was only and solely Sullivans choice of manager, Sullivan has retorted that Guilherme and Fulkrug was money down the chute, for that only he maybe right, if things go badly come Saturday, there maybe two people leaving not one, a sad state of affairs, which originally promised so much, Sullivan is looking for scapegoats, on the other hand, has Steidten done his job properly?

Steidten has done a stellar job since joining, the only two question marks you are able to point to are Guilherme and Fullkrug.

Guilherme was always going to be eased in to Premier League appearances, he is a young, pacy, strong winger that is competing against the likes of Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus and Summerville for a starting position.

Fullkrug got injured on international duty and therefore hasn't featured. Steidten cannot be blamed for Fullkrug' injury.

You could argue, and I imagine one or two of you will, that Steidten shouldn't have signed an ageing forward that has had injury issue in the past, and I will once again reiterate that whilst Duran could have been bought instead, whos to say he wouldn't have picked up an injury?

Additionally, had West Ham been successful in their attempts to SELL Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, James Ward-Prowse, Danny Ings and Michail Antonio, I would put my house on the fact we would have signed another forward, perhaps two, in addition to Fullkrug.

TIM STEIDTEN is, in my opinion, the best thing to have happened to the West Ham leadership, in a long time.

Steidten was tasked with taking the club to the next level, he has largely succeeded in improving the squad, but it was never going to be a one season transition, and he was overruled in his choice of manager.

If Steidten leaves because Pigmy Sullivan blames him for our current short comings in addition to Lopetegui, then it will be a true shame.

Who is to blame for our poor midfield then? Guillermes and Fulkrug may yet come good, time will tell, I’m more concerned with adding Soler and Rodrigues to Alverez and Souchek thus creating a midfield devoid of pace and so far passing abilty ……. He is not entirely to blame but is also not blameless. Spent a lot of time in Brazil chasing shadows early in the transfer window as well.

I think that is a fair assessment. Not to take all the blame but not blameless.
If we had bought Callum Wilson everyone would have been up in arms! But we just bought the German version instead!

I agree. Steidten’s visit to Brazil cost us an early agreement on Duran. He misjudged Villa’s timing and negotiating ability.

Both Solar and Rodrigues were CHEAP options to bolster our midfield because there was no money left due to a lack of sales. Soler is highly regarded by Lopetegui and was in my opinion a Lopetegui choice that Steidten was happy to go for given the need for additions in midfield. It is my opinion that Rodrigues is exactly the same, a Lopetegui choice that Steidten saw being a short term fix that worked with our budget.

If there had been more player sales, then the budget would have allowed further, perhaps better additions.

Soler on his day is a class player, but he hasn’t settled as quickly as we would have liked.

Rodrigues looks like he is struggling with the pace of the Premier League.

Both were cheap options, that bolstered our midfield.

I am not saying Steidten hasn’t got a few decisions wrong, but you cannot tell me that our squad has not improved over the squad we had last year. Steidten said it was a 5 year project and he has been at the club coming up to 18 months. If he is given another two, three years then I have no doubt he’ll make a couple mistakes but he’ll also have signed players we could only have dreamed of previously.

Todibo, no one saw that happening, that was Steidten.

Kudus, has been a bright spark since joining, that was Steidten.

Alvarez, is a decent, albeit rash defensive midfielder, but he needs someone with pace alongside him that we currently lack, that was Steidten.

Had we continued with Pigmy Sullivan and the Argyle Gargoyle we’d of ended up signing Maguire over Todibo, McTominay over Kudus and who knows who else.

The point is, Steidten is a step in the right direction. Getting rid of him and going back to Sullivan heading the recruitment of players would be a disaster.

Steidten didn’t want Lopetegui, no one did apart from Sullivan. Steidten should have been given the support when he wanted Amorim.

Stiedten wanted the Brazilian CB for around 12m. Instead loppy pushed for Kilman and was supposed to have spoken direct with sullivan to push for that 40m deal.

Aa good as kilman is the extra 30m we spent on him compared to stiedtens picks could have went to paying the extra for duran and getting a top midfielder rather than a freebie in rodriguez that is far to similar to alvarez anyway.

So who's fault is that? I'd say its sullivans for creating a scenario where he stiedten whe loppy take turns with signings.

If stiedten had full control over transfers no way he's paying 40m for kilman he identity we were missing something in midfield when we were going fofana who imo was exactly what we needed.

For me Kretinsky needs to step in buy the shares he can it's in his best interests as Sullivan is ruining his investment

I agree we paid way over for Kilman.
Sully will not budge. If Kretinsky was going to be the major shareholder he would have done this by now.
WH are just a money safe for him currently

Sullivans god is money . If DK ponies up the readies he will be out the door quicker than a bishop in a brothel raid .

Agree with comments, but it is what it is, Sullivan doesn’t want control, but then he does, it’s on and off, like a tap, truth of the matter is, if your employing people who have got objective opinions, listen to them, otherwise don’t employ them in the first place, Sullivan wants all the credit, but doesn’t want all the blame, there were two separate meetings about the managers post,

De Zerbi was put forward, as first choices as was the Hoeness, all the principles at WH including Kretinsky, were agreed on those two, except the boss, who for reasons unknown wanted Loppy, he’s the boss that’s it, as they say, the rest is history, big mistake made take it on the chin, and move on,
