We all have to remember that Moyes left us teamwise in a poor and run down state, if we had continued with him and that team, certain relegation would have followed, it's a question not only. Of money, it's getting the right blend of players with manager, Man U will spend on 2 players, what we spent on 9, WH cannot compete on financials alone, we need a manager that can knit together ideas and plans, starting with our present squad, outing those deemed unsuitable, and look for younger people with ambition and a point to prove, at this time, Personally, I think, Terzic should get an opportunity, he spent time with us, understands where we are at, give him short term contract, then if we improve go from there, Steidten , looks to have made a mistake or two, but didn't choose Loppy to work with either, at this present time, this is the way I would go, if we continue with Loppy, it could spell disaster

Interesting you say Edin Terzic should get an opportunity. Despite taking Borussia Dortmund to the Final of the Champions League, he isn't remembered fondly by many of them.

Dortumnd fans felt they failed to capitalize in the league when Bayern were out of sorts, and place the blame at his feet, saying it was due to his tactics being too passive and too defensive. They don't consider the football played to be of a good enough standard to what they expect. They actually felt they were playing too many long balls, which is evidenced by the fact Mats Hummels actually led the league in long balls stats.

He often played 4-2-3-1 that converted to a 5-4-1 when not on possession and big named players, including Hummels, Reus, Fullkrug publicly criticized his tactics.

Terzic supposedly failed to progress any of their young crop of players (Adeyemi, Malen, Bynoe-Gittens and Reyna) .

I am not saying he wouldn't be an improvement, but it sounds an awful lot like Terzic is the German/Croatian equivalent to David Moyes and Julien Lopetegui.

All good well known points, however we are in a fix at present, owing to our current situation, nobody of standing is going to come in, so who do we turn to, if we stick with Loppy looks like disaster? Die 4, my friend, you have a good understanding of how the game works, but our side is in trouble, stick or twist, Personally, with 27 games to play after Saturday, one must look at the points needed, for us to survive, ( perhaps 38 ) and perhaps look upwards, not glare at the bottom, so what does Sullivan do, it’s completely clear he alone chose Loppy, he’s unusually having. Long conversations with Kretinsky, who is apparently very aggravated, he was against Loppys appointment, in the first place and wanted one of two others, one was De Zerbi, but that’s past, I don’t care who we have, I’m just fed up watching our clueless performances.

I would point to Forests first goal, three Centre backs, Woods is standing on his own in the middle 2 metres from goal! you could see it coming 3/4 seconds beforehand, Kilman Todibo Bissake and even Mavrapanos are better players than what we had beforehand, tactical madness ensues, the players are to blame of course, but he’s a naïve manager, this guy, the previous week we used a seasons luck against United, we could and should have been swamped by halftime, somehow we got away with it, but that was a one off, Saturday against Forest was reality , can’t go on like this

I agree with what you've said Joyful, and I do believe that Lopetegui should probably be moved on, sooner rather than later. He has had a few months now to put his stamp on the team and still doesn’t look close to achieving that. 10 league games in and we look clueless for the most part. Additionally, reports suggest the team are struggling to understands what it is that Lopetegui is trying to implement. That is ridiculous after a quarter of the season. I mean we are playing no better that we were last season, and I think it is fair to say the squad we have is better than it was last year (for a good few years actually), and decent players don't lose their ability overnight. So again, something is wrong and there is a need for change.

I also agree that Edin Terzic may well be a good fit for the role in the short term, and if he were offered the opportunity, I think the likelihood is we will see improvement. He has a history with the club having been the Assistant to Slaven Bilic, and he has knowledge of the board and some of the senior players too. He would be a logical choice to replace Lopetegui IN THE SHORT TERM.

However, I can see the West Ham board giving Lopetegui more time to turn things around, because I can’t shake the feeling, they have the viewpoint of “there are a couple of teams in the league doing worse than we are (Southampton, Wolves, Ipswich) and we aren’t in any immediate danger”. Whether we as fans agree with that stance or not is irrelevant, but that is their decision to make.

If we are being completely honest, the evidence taken from recent history screams that Lopetegui is going to consistently be given a few more weeks and unless something drastic happens, will likely see out this season whether we like it or not. At the seasons end I could then see a review taking place and in the event of a poor season all round, the club and Lopetegui then parting ways “by mutual consent”.

I only see Lopetegui being sacked if West Ham are in a relegation battle and there are no signs of improvement. In that instance, I can see the board letting him go and bringing in someone until the end of the season, then deciding on a permanent replacement.

Potter is the man we need. He is British, plays flowing football and organises teams When he was at Chelsea the team ran us ragged and should have been 6 up at HT, amazingly, it ended 1-1. The manager buys few of the players at Chelsea, therefore, he did ok. Moyes is an interesting scenario, as the plyers obviously liked him and brought into his of football, but the fans did not like his football. Yet we had 3 years of Europe and a trophy. I'd sack Loppy now and go for Potter, and if Potter did not want it I'd have Moyes back until the end of the season.

Clubs aren’t exactly falling over themselves to give Potter a job. There must be a reason.
As for Moyes - enough said. Next you’ll be suggesting Gareth Wallygate.

Hi Tinlegs, second attempt - are you able to suggest a new manager as opposed to cementing your status as someone who doesn’t offer solutions and resorts to ridicule. ‘Wallygate’ is the most successful England manager in my lifetime.

I also think your information on Potter is, as Ed put it, tainted. Potter has been offered work but is waiting for the right opportunity. I will wait for your reply.

Why you think it’s so important to know who I would like as manager (using various pathetic name changes to discover this massive piece of information) is beyond me. If only to shut you up, my first choice as head coach would be Thomas Frank.

Ah, at last. Reasoned and logical, well done Tinlegs. Good boy. Although I only understood your post in relation to Thomas Frank. I don’t understand the rest of it. I’m assuming your either talking to, or about someone else.

Although Loppy is an average manager. I honestlty feel much of the blame lays with Steidten. His buys have been erratic. We are West Ham Utd, and do not have the luxury in 'bedding' a £25m Brazilian superstar teenager. Our players need to hit the ground running. Fulkrieg smelt of desperation, and we all thought the age of the squad would go down. it has gone up. Rodriquez, well I am not going there.

Maybe Steidten has faltered in one or two dealings. I think maybe he misjudged the timing on the Duran negotiations. There’s no doubting Fullkrüg is a top striker (he’s a German international regular and he’s a top Bundesliga goalscorer.) However, his injury record is well known in Germany and questions should have been asked if he would fit in with the WHU current squad and the system at the club, plus the rigorous playing method in the Premiership. I agree about Rodriguez and the general age of the WHU squad.
Having said all that, I think it’s pretty obvious that Steidten has not been allowed to carry out his role as a proper technical director should. Sullivan finds it too difficult to relinquish his power at the club, and he insists on having too much input. We’ll never move on with him as the majority shareholder.
