Apparently GSB already planning to use the free transfer market because that's worked out so well in the past hasn't it.

if we sign one or two free agents to plump up the squad numbers a little then that would be useful, we don't have the depth of squad for Europa League on a Thursday and then Premier League on the Sunday. However, I would be hugely disappointed if we signed free agents and didn't invest money in players too.

It is also worth mentioning there are one or two free agents that probably would be useful / good additions and are realistic targets (excluding Messi, Donnarumma, Depay, Wijnaldum for example because they're not realistic) .


Thomas Vaclik - GK - Czech no. 1 goalkeeper, has played for Sevilla for a few years now, has won the Europa League with them too. he would be a decent signing in goal

Nikola Maksimovic - CB - international player with a fairly decent pedigree

Ryan Bertrand - LB - but would be a useful addition and decent competition at left back

John Lundstram - cm - in my opinion he has been made a bit of a scapegoat this year for Sheffield United, but again, as a squad player to sit on the bench and fill in, not a bad option

Josh King - f - to have as a squad player behind Antonio and any marquee signing we make up top, a decent option

Cristian Benteke - f - to have as a squad player behind Antonio and any marquee signing we make up top, a decent option


NOW. I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT, I DO NOT THINK WE SHOULD SIGN THESE PLAYERS, BUT I AM SAYING THAT THERE ARE A COUPLE OF DECENT SQUAD BOOSTING OPTIONS ON THE FREE AGENT LIST THIS SUMMER. ALTHOUGH, I WOULDN'T BE DISAPPOINTED IF WE SIGNED VACLIK AND BERTRAND.

We've been linked to other "free transfers" Giroud, Don Peretz and possibly Ntcham if celtic terminate his contract.

Usually they are being let go for a reason or a number of reasons high wages, age, attitude.

I think there can be frees that would be smart business to bulk out the squad just hope they do their due diligence and don't get players that simply aren't good enough and/ or disrupt the squad.

Sullivan needs to dig deep for me now would be the perfect time to buy players with some being sold cheaper due to loss of revenue.

Benteke would be a good signing. He causes problems for defences.
