Ed just a quick question, is there an obligation or even a chance to purchase Lingard come the end of the loan do you know? Hand on heart if it was me in his shoes at any club after being left in the cold, if I have a good six months with the club I would be telling my agent to ring Woodward and say empty my locker, Man U is not everything. But that's just me, I would love to think he had a good six months and does just that and wants to stay. That being said the whole team played well, great tactics on grealish who to me is a great player but one of the biggest cheats in our leauge, he is going down 90% of the time before the contact comes. Where I live up north u come across a player on a saturday or Sunday, he's going to get smashed for being that way out.
Sorry ED was supposed to be a quick question.
I digress 🤣🤣🤣
Great win COYI âš’âš’âš’.

{Ed002's Note - There is no obligation or option, but he only has a year to run and I expect they will be open to offers.}

The issue is Lingard is Man Utd through and through and been there since he could walk just about, if he felt he was going to get opportunities he would still be there, he will also no doubt like the idea of playing Champions League. Let's see how he goes between now and May, one swallow is not a summer, but hopefully he continues in the same vane.

He is a professional footballer not a supporter with a couple of years left to make as much money as he can - so he will come if we pay enough and he plays (which gives him a better chance with England) .

Not much point in being at a CL club if you aren't in the team.

Anyway - we might be in the Champions League next season!

Well let’s hope we are CL but I doubt that.

It’s not about being a fan it’s about him wanting to play at Manchester United. As much as we would like to think differently, playing at a club like Man U, Liverpool, Man City, is appealing as it isn’t about making lots of money, he has that and knows wherever he plays he will get a reasonable salary. It will be about opportunity to play (which yes we give him) and being involved in big matches. My comment was saying if he sees opportunity at Man U it would be hard to move him, if he doesn’t see opportunity or they don’t offer him a new contract, then it will be that much easier.

But as said elsewhere, one swallow doesn’t make a summer, and everyone knows he has ability it is his commitment and drive week in week out that have been questioned. Today no-one was much good so he wasn’t alone but we saw what he can do in one game, let’s see him do it in 10-15 games.
