£35m for Youssef En-Nesyri!?
Shove him Seville is what I say. Let them keep him and sell him for £10m in 12 months. A swallow doesn’t make a summer as they say.
One decent start to a season after two average at best seasons doesn’t justify their ridiculous valuation. Jog on West Ham and buy Adam Hlozek for a fraction of that and wait for his injury to subside, play him in March and give Antonio a rest then. Relegation isn’t beckoning so no reason to panic buy in my view.

Yep. Move on from En Nesyri and look elsewhere.

I would worry, though, if we don’t buy another striker this window.

This is the best start we have had for a long time, if we don't sign a striker this will show a complete lack of ambition from the board in my opinion.

REDROBBO, Short memory, It was only in March 2018 They showed ambition and backed Pellegrini and what good did that do, wasted £80m plus on damp squibs, so don’t agree there Rob I’m afraid!
I can remember posters on here ecstatic at the signings at the time!

Spot on Chelmsford. REDROBBO you also need to understand that PERHAPS the club sold Haller because they needed money. If they don’t buy a striker this window because they won’t be held to ransom and being asked to stump pay stupid money like En-Nasyri’s club is asking for doesn’t show lack of ambition but business sense.
At the moment we have a financially sound club with every chance of surviving these turbulent time. Start spending stupid money without considering the long term impact on the club financially due to the C.V. 19 impact would be nothing short of culpable and financially irresponsible.
At this stage I’d say “sod showing ambition” to be honest.
I want to have a club to support and take my son to over the next decade or so before I leave this mortal coil. 😂😂😂👍👍👍.

Who said anything about stupid money and no Chelmsford I don't have a short memory I believed at the time pellegrini was finished before he even spent anything, moyes is clearly trying to build something so let him build it, we can get a back up for antonio at a reasonable price, we have sold a lot of the squad in the summer and even in this window have shifted 2 players, this season is a real chance to have a go and finish relatively high up league even European football next year which all adds to revenue, if antonio gets injured now and we don't get anyone in our season is over basically.

I would like us to sign someone and perhaps take the opportunity that is opening itself up to finish high in the league. However I think on the transfer front Moyes is winning my confidence at least. I don't think he is going to spend silly money on a player and will only bring someone in if it adds to the squad and is at the right price (something to be said for Scotsmen after all :D ) . Given our position and what is being done I will give him the benefit of the doubt and if it gets to the last day and we don't have one I won't be upset, it means the right one wasn't available at the right price.

ROBBO, You said “lack of ambition” so what’s your idea of ambition” They showed that they have ambition giving MP a free spend, which ended up draining us financially without any progress! DM is doing a great job whether we make more signings or not! We need quality for the PL, not quantity, those that have gone apart from Snoddy were not good enough anyway for WH, it was just age with Snod?
Yes of course we could do with another Antonio up front, but who is he? If we make a signing especially up front I will be delighted like all of us, but hopefully they won’t spend for the sake of it! We all know Football is a business not just a game we all love!

I agree with all the above that we should show ambition an opportunity is there we've had a great first half to the season let's not let it fade and die.

At the same time we need to make sure we are not panick buying and over spending, in my opinion youssef seems well over priced and does he even want to come?

Dia physically looks very good and works very hard also he's joint to scorer in ligue 1.

Adam Armstrong you know would come in and give it his all and he's very talented.

Hlozek looks great too very young but I doubt he would be for sale this window and might be some of the bigger clubs looking at him in the summer i'd take all 3 of these above youssef they could all be available for less with sevilla wanting 30-40m. I don't think we have that to spend but if we did it should be spread across a striker and a midfielder to cover rice nd soucek.

Oyarzabal also looks quality I believe Moyes gave him his debut at real sociedad!

Chelms my idea of a lack of ambition is not kicking on from what has been outlined best start in years by heading into the 2 nd half of the season with a threadbare squad not capable of handling the rigours of the Premier league we all know Antonio's injury record isn't great, while I don't think we can replace him I do think we can get cover so we can use him more sparingly in certain games, we have a real chance of finishing top 6 this year, Moyes has come up trumps with the signings he has made so far souchek, bowen, coufal, Dawson so trust the manager.

Robb, I have complete trust in Moyes, but he can’t magic a player that nobody wants to get rid of. I mentioned in an earlier post if we can’t get anybody in, to use Ant more sparingly, but if you’re fit with no twinges or injury, can’t see Ant wanting to hang around and not play!
So DM and his team need to find a solution to that conundrum, we still have enough time to sign somebody, they would have been planning this for long enough!
âš’âš’âš’âš’.

Crazy bid for that guy. If we truly had that cash you'd get both Dia and Daka for that money. Brutal front line pace then. Sick of these airy fairy bids for ransomers. Stump up (reasonable) money for relatively experience youthful fast frontmen. Job done. Need to sting Liverpool back pairing at the end of the month with Rashford-esque type runs.

REDROBBO. :: I get what you’re saying mate.
It would be a crying shame to not kick on from where we are and try to get a striker in to help us retain our good form.
My point to you was, January is a pretty bad time to bring in a striker of any quality.
We’re being held to ransom by clubs because they understand our dire need for a striker. Clubs like Seville have also struggled financially with C.V. and in my opinion are trying to take liberties with us trying to double a players value to get more money. Teams like this we should give a wide berth and move on to another player.
You also said that your not talking about buying a player for stupid money but unfortunately January is silly money time because it’s halfway through a season and if clubs are going to lose players and not be able to replace them on time, the sought after players will carry a premium price tag.
In my view, and my preference would be, if we cannot find a long term solution to our striker shortage because either they aren’t good enough or are too expensive because it’s mid season, I’d make do with what we have (perhaps finish outside of the top 10 and buy in the next transfer window. If the club decided to do this, it wouldn’t suggest they lack ambition but are focussing on long term success and not just about finishing this season in 6th or 7th place. In my humble opinion, 6th or 7th is the best we can hope for even with a new striker.

On BBC text this morning, bid by us for the Moroccan of £27m rejected👍 I am well pleased as I’d rather have nobody than possibly somebody that’s been touted about by agents showing clips of him! I wonder if anybody has actually scouted him especially since the C.V., I doubt it?

I would be really pissed off to get another overseas player coming in on more money than some of our regular squad on 3/ 4 year contracts, what an invite to take advantage that is?
Was looking at the payroll today for WH, Yarmelenko is on £115k a week, outrageous, another MP example of lining pockets! Rice is almost at the bottom, although I think that’s been adjusted now? We need a wage structure like some other clubs, rewards on performances and loyalty! ⚒⚒⚒.
