Hi all. Just heard on SP that we have put in a bid for Youssef En-Nesyri from Seville.
I never knew much about him but checked his stats and he ain’t all that from what I can see. On some sites it also says he’s worth £13.5m and we offered £22m and it was rebuffed. I hope we tell them to jam it and move on to another player. 😳😳😡😡.

{Ed002's Note - Youssef En-Nesyri (S) West Ham apparently, via a third party, have made an approach to ask about availability and price for the player who has done well this season, but has mot set the world aloight previously. Will be off the AFCON when it comes around. Makes little sense.

COYI, Make you right. IMO most of the Footballing World knows we are suckers for throwing our money about, Agents will tout anyone when they know we are anxious for another front man! If we can get another up front similar that can hit the ground running like other DM signings, Soucek, Coufal, Bowen, Dawson who has been magnificent, his option to buy is an unbelievable £2m, that’s a no brainer!
I still wouldn’t be upset if it didn’t happen, would prefer to wait until until end of season, we will not be in relegation trouble, if we’ve done it so far with just Antonio up front with others contributing to goals, I see no reason why it can’t continue? Maybe he should play Ant less often to sustain him, we still have options in our squad? No doubt a few posters will want to shoot me down🤣⚒⚒⚒⚒.

My gun is firmly in its holster, so I won’t be shooting you down Chelmsford. Your post makes good sense to me. 👍.

I agree that we shouldn’t simply throw cash away, but there are some decent strikers out there. Daka would be my choice, if possible, but I won’t hold my breath.

Yes, we have done well so far this season, but we do look lean if Antonio goes down.

The clean sheets have been excellent, however we need to score to make one point into three.

I would be happier with another quality Striker.

Agree to some degree Chelms, I would HATE for us to rush into a player that turns out to have NONE of the attributes we need (Hugill rings a bell) . I think Moyes is wiser now and he has already stated he wants PACE which is a relief. This said, I do not want us spending big on someone in this C.V. era, £20m is a real push/ risk for me. Personally I do not think we can stretch that far on one player, as we need a CM as well. So the Haller money needs to stretch over 2 players really, wise spending not BIG spending.
The point I disagree with is that we could cope without another striker as we are safe from relegation. I agree we are safe, but if we slip away from Europe this season then our star players Rice and Soucek WILL have offers and WILL be tempted if we are not close enough to Europe. We need to progress or we stand to lose these players.
Odubeko has talent but i doubt he is ready just yet (maybe we will see more vs Doncaster) and I'd love to see more of him as we need a striker urgently. We have been brilliant this season, but to get into Europe we need to score our chances. Here is some perspective; we should have been 3-0 up vs Man Utd before Pogba's goal that should have been a throw in, if we'd have won that game (and we should have) then we'd be 3 points off TOP right now. Top 4 is potentially achievable if we put away our chances. Antonio is key to our forward play ATM, and we cannot rely on his fitness so we need someone to compete.

Nick, ideally of course I would love to get help for Antonio up front, but we are who we are, we are bait for the “Bounty Hunters” as I always call them! The January window is a poison chalice for clubs that make it known they are in the hunt for additional players! I’m sure DM is trying his hardest to recruit, but please no more expensive Damp Squibs for £20m! ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

It’s a tough one isn’t it? I agree with Chelmsford we certainly don’t want to bring someone in panicking, but on the other hand what better season to bring someone in as the opportunity for any team who puts a good run together far exceeds the chance most seasons. Just look at where we are and imagine if we had taken those two extra points against Palace or Brighton or both? Imagine if we had a striker in form and fitted the setup in that first half against Manchester United we would have been 2 or 3 up. All teams in and around us can say the same no doubt if looking back at some games but going forward if we can snatch a few more goals, a few more points, an unexpected finish could happen.

I think we do need a new striker that can bed into the team rather than waiting till next transfer window to buy a player who will take time to get familiar with Dm tactics and if its a player outside the premier league then they don't always hit the ground running especially foriegn players so why we are in a strong position now is the time to get a striker in now as i'm sure we didn't even have a striker on the bench for the West brom game correct me if i'm wrong so let's get a young striker in to gel with our squad before the pre season starts for the new season starts.
