The Benrahma Deal looks like it could collapse as they are focusing their efforts on signing King instead, any news on this Ed?

{Ed002's Note - I have no update at this time.}

What a joke. Everything all done apparently bar the medical and how there are complications! Always the same joke of a west ham way. Now we want king who everton also want so he's not going to come to us.

I can’t understand why they would announce that they’ve agreed a fee one day only to call it off the next, there’s a good chance we won’t get either of them, (Benrahma or King), we will probably get Deeney?

Ugh, Troy Deeney. 17 league goals in the last 3 seasons, 10 of which were pens says all that needs saying about Troy Deeney.

The problem appears to be Brentford want more money, so it’s not us this time.

We are signing both. In all seriousness I wouldn't believe any of the reports it was first suggested by the daily mirror I don't think they have any legit sources they just make stuff up.

Most of it's all designed to get us clicking. I doubt a deal had even been agreed between the club or benrahmas representatives.

To me he doesn't seem like a Moyes signing but more of a Sullivan type. I'd take them both if we could you know you are going to get a solid premiership player in King and he would be great cover for Antonio. Benrahma could turn out to be another Mahrez worth a fortune.

Sounds like it's a row between Brentford and Benrahma's representatives about loyalty payments. All we can do is sit on the sidelines and see if they sort it out.

Im sorry but IMO KING is injury prone and we need to steer clear of them typical west ham moves look at WILSHIRE whos contract has just been terminated for crying out loud. COYI.

In fairness West Ham didn’t announce they agreed anything that was the press. Read a story yesterday as well that said it wasn’t done and could fall through. People shouldn’t keep blaming the club just because they believe what they read in the paper.

Dawson = good deal. I was worried we'd get him on a 3-4 year deal and struggle to get rid further down the line, a 1yr loan is PERFECT. He is not inspirational, but we only need him as cover and he is proven to be OK in the PL with very few mistakes leading to goals, and is the type who could do well under Moyes. Our recent form proves we CAN be solid at the back but just lack in cover. We do need to improve at CB long term, and will no doubt look to get a 24-28 year old CB on bigger money in upcoming windows, but failing this, Dawson on short term cheap deal is good policy. Personally the money touted for these CB's at the moment is ludicrous, and i am glad we did not cave in and pay huge sums for players unproven in PL (e. g. Fofana) in this window. Tarkowski (whom i'd love at WHU) for £35m was also too much for us in our current position, unless you could guarantee us that he would change us like Van Djik did to Liverpool. He would improve us long term, but I am not sure he would be THAT good. Bear in mind Leicester got Jonny Evans for £3.6m.
For me, Benrahma over King, but the price (if £30m) is mad. He is a CHAMPIONSHIP player! For Moyes though, maybe King suits his style more? Hard to say this one. I agree with Whorya that King has injury history (and his wage demands were ludicrous also (£70k max, not 120k! ), but Benrahama is unproven at PL level. I think Benrahma will work better with Haller than Anderson did, and the fact he is settled in Uk/ London is also a HUGE bonus over Anderson who did not settle. So i do think he would be an upgrade. I believe the board (and Moyes) are hedging that they will get £20-25m back on Anderson with the loan fee and hopefully a transfer fee next summer, plus they will save nearly £1.5 mil in wages over the season. This nearly pays for Benrahma, leaving funds for a CB there for next summer, while Dawson can cover this season.
The issue for me, we STILL have no Declan cover.

Dawson is a great defender.
