Sky now weighing in, saying a deal for Benrahma is close.

Totally pointless signing, we don't even play with a left winger we gave been using wing backs.

ROBBO, As I said previously, I have no idea how good or not so good most players outside the Premiership are or Even what position they play in!
It if he’s a left winger, we already have a proven winger in Yarmelenko who I think is underused! But the squad does seems light at the moment! Hope we are injury free for the Spurs game next week and show the same zest and energy for that game and don’t sit back to try to defend as they have the 2 most prolific front men in the Premiership in Son and Kane⚒⚒⚒⚒.

Chelms from what I've seen he's a decent player, but not what we need, we need cover at cm, cf, cb and lb so seems very strange being a cynic this seems like another sully signing.

Our first XI have been excellent for the last two games now that Moyse has found the right formation and, on paper, our bench looks pretty decent. But I agree that we lack real depth. A couple of injuries, or virus isolations, could be damaging.

As I see it, we have Cresswell/ Ogbonna/ Balbuena/ Diop vying for places in the back three; Coufal/ Fredericks/ Johnson at RWB; Masuaku (with maybe Snodgrass/ Lanzini as cover) at LWB; Rice/ Soucek (with an ageing Noble) at CM; Antonio/ Bowen/ Fornals (with Haller/ Yarmolenko as cover) up front.

The obvious problem spot is CM. If either Rice or Soucek go down, we have no pace and power to replace them. This would be my priority. Apart from that, another CB for extra cover would be great, especially a left footer.

I do, however, like the look of Benrahma and would like to see him in Claret and Blue.

Sounds a bit out there but what are ppls views on diop acting as cover for rice and soucek he's fairly strong can carry the ball upfield kouyate esk.

I’m not keen on the idea of another winger but maybe they have the cash for one more player cb/ dm cover plus there’s the free transfer market to consider.

{Ed002's Note - Craig Dawson perhaps.}

Wysiwyg with Dawson: experienced and consistent, but well past his best now. He would be a short term band aid and doesn’t fit with the young and hungry mantra.

If the Benrahma saga proves to be successful, we MUST add a strong, fast CM, who can disrupt play, as an absolute necessity.

Ben Davies from Preston apparently and how about troy Deeney. don't like deeney personally but could be a good addition.

Deeney has been a good servant for Watford, but he’s not for me.

Markro - did you really suggest Lanzini as LWB cover? I guess technically anyone could cover, but an injury damaged number 10 seems an unlikely candidate!

Biggest trouble with all this is it smacks of the underhand on-going insistence on signing players with strong links to a single agent only. Seems pretty nefarious and not without some kind of "motivation".

Strange we've suddenly got the money for these two but were always a few mil short of the European CBs that weren't via the favoured agent from across Europe, despite them being cheaper than others bid for.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck. it's probably a duck!

Whenever we've come up against DAWSON at the back he's always impressed i remember him marking CARROLL and DAWSON never got beat once in the air he might lack a bit of pace but pacey C/ B are as rare as hens teeth and he isn't slow by any means and I truly believe given the chance could become a fans favourite I know there ain't fans ATM but you get me joust.
