Fantastic win last night shows we do have the fight to move on, the system worked well

ED002, I reading so much that Chelsea are coming in this week for a bid for Rice, if they really wanted why wait to the last min to bid?, do you think they may offer a couple of players plus money for Rice, to entice to sale, maybe a DM involved in the bid?

{Ed002's Note - If Chelsea do make an offer they will look to include a player in the deal, but I suspect WHU would prefer cash if they are even considering a sale.}

Ed02 I think it’s a bit late in the day to sell we would need to replace dec which won’t be easy if we had lost yesterday the pressure would been on the board to come up with cash for which may have pushed the rice sale through. I don’t expect him to be at west ham next year but given the current market circumstances if he is sold do it in the beginning of the window when it does benefit us I know some fans are calling for or Barkley Kante/ 140 k a week Barkley 1/ 120 a week our biggest problem is an unbalanced squad and our main target is a CB does mean moyes is looking to go to a 352.

{Ed002's Note - Thomas Soucek could cover but WHU need the money and a CB is top priority. They will resist I would think if an offer is made. Obviously Kante is not an option but Barkley certainly is.}

We would lose Souceks goals if he has to sit deeper like Rice. Really doesn't make sense why we would sell our best player with so little time to get replacements. If a mammoth bid comes in at the start of a window and you have plenty of time to reshape the squad then maybe we should consider it but not now that ship has sailed.

And Barkley on 100/ 120 k a week I’m not saying Barkley would not improve the team but we have an abundance of ATM we just need to balance the squad out and play to our strengths we always seem play a right footer on the left and if yarms is on the right we have a very narrow midfield with very little space to play in. they very rarely put crosses into the box Anderson will put a poor cross in or run into to many bodies.

The timing is well and truly ludicrous if Chelsea bid for Rice. Even if they have is £80m (which they won’t) we will never find a replacement on time.
If they want Rice, then they should make an agreement with West Ham to take him at the end of the season. This is IF and ONLY IF Rice wants to go and the deal is a good one for us.
The only thing they will do coming in with a bid this late, is unsettle Rice and affect his game.
