Any truth in the rumour that declan rice has agreed terms with chelsea and now pushing for a move. If it is i'd suggest we get players out of chelsea that they are willing to release on. loan or sale. Berkely, Loftus cheek come to mind.

West Ham must keep players like Declan

Over 100 games played virtually injury free and a regular England International where do you get that every day

Reminds me of the way we lost RIO 30 years ago.

I like to think that we can hold on to Dec but i can't see that happening, we need players decent players to come in and let's face it the only way is to sell Rice he will free up enough money to buy 2-3 players with the money from previous sales, if we don't the writing is on the wall RELEGATION LOOMS
Cn anyone see any other options that will work because i cant.

At least the money for Rio was used to build the old Dr Martens stand at Upton Park. Rice's sale will go straight into DGS back pocket.

Rice is not going to save us on his own, the truth is we as a club simply do not deserve an outstanding player, why should he be held back, you can’t keep a dissatisfied player, look at Arnautovic! £30m plus a couple of excess to requirements from Chelsea would be a good deal, cash in while we can! ⚒⚒⚒.

You play with the Dec you’ve got until something else is on the cards.

There is a strong reason for Dec to stay, and that is the fact that he will get experience captaining a side in the PL with us this season. If he is confident in his ability, then there WILL be suitors for him next summer again, and proving himself as a captain will only help him develop and get bigger interest.
His contract is long, so i do not think WHU will lose out too much on his value if he stays.
No guarantees in today's football, i hope he stays though.
I fear the main battle at the moment is Sullivan and transfers. Sullivan spent big on Pellegrini's wishlist and look where it got us. Now Moyes wants to spend all our budget on one player, and Sullivan is nervous to do so after all the spending under MP. Understandable IMO, he may hesitate putting all his eggs in Moyes's basket like he did for Pellegrini, Moyes did buy Hugill after all. If there is any time to align with the manager though it is now, and CB is CLEARLY an area we need to improve.

Bidefordjohno

I think how we performed against Arsenal the other night shows that we can stay in the premier league and not be relegated. True, if we want to push on, we need new players, but I still think we can improve on last season with Bowen and Soucek.

Nick, my sole reason for saying let him go as I said was, no point in trying to shackle a player that could be resentful of WH refusing his move if there is indeed an offer for him?
He seems a very, stable, level headed man possibly mature beyond his years, if he felt he needed more experience in any footballing way that he could get with us, to consolidate his future in football then he would remain! I think we can can kick on with or without Rice but obviously if he remained it would be a massive bonus for us! âš’âš’âš’âš’.

I'm a yes or no man if he wants to go let him go it does nobody any good by digging your heels in and saying he ain't going, we don't know what's be said so its pointless guessing if or not he's asked for the move to Chelsea my brothers quite well informed by people at Chelsea and its gone quiet on RICE so weather declans trying to get talks moving I doubt but if he's going to be sold please let's not do it near the end of the window and leaving us no time to get a replacement in but with SGB nothing would surprise me. COYI.

I say let him go. His value ‘may’ reduce if we struggle, plus Chelsea could offer us some players plus cash for him should we want. Let’s be honest, most Chelsea players would improve our 11. If we could get 2 of them plus £20-30m we cannot lose. Specifically as we hold the trump card. Rice.
Loftus Cheek, Barkley, Abrahams, Alonso, Rudiger would improve our team.

I’ve never heard any mention of him wanting to leave and recruitment has been difficult enough Barkley would improve the squad but it in defense but on 120 k a week. the problem we have players ain’t joining us to win trophy’s it’s for above average wages which makes them difficult to move on .

if he chooses to leave I say let the lad go to where he feels is right for him and his career and then if we can benefit from it so be it. Above all, west ham football club comes first and if we could get a great deal out of it we would be crazy to refuse.
