Many people, quite rightly, showing concern around a potential transfer for Declan Rice. With 2 weeks until our curtain raiser, time to be and act, as I believe West Ham are, a big club. I wouldn't sell now regardless. Our strength is the midfield. Rice, Soucek and one other is, in my own view, as good as anything outside top 8. Which is where we should be aiming.

Sadly we aren't a big club, we have a big stadium, but let's face it we haven't won anything for 40 years, we have never qualified for CL, and we are fighting relegation most years, success for us won't come overnight it will be a slow building process.

Couldn't disagree more, in the grand scheme of things, West Ham is a big club. Premier League virtually every season, big support base, London based, plenty of factors add value to a club. West Ham have plenty of features attractive to players.

Can you tell me of another "big club " that is heading into a season with only one recognised striker?

We can all see where we need to improve yet nothing has been done

We scraped by last season and have done nothing to improve, I can see Rice going why would he want to stay when he can play CL football and win things elsewhere?

Like I said big fanbases don't make a big club we have a small club mentality we haven't improved at all since we left the boylen infact we have regressed, our transfer policy is questionable at best, simple fact is the best players don't want to play at West ham so its left until late in window and we over pay for players like haller which then has a detrimental effect on other transfers as there's no money left then.

{Ed002's Note - WHU are trying to add a striker. The transfer window is still open. Money is very, very tight.}

I'm sure Manchester United went into the season after selling Lukaku with only 1 recognised striker. Are you telling me Manchester United aren't a big club?

Pelegríni spent a LOT of money, and waisted a lot of money. The board can’t be blamed for backing him. Moyse is in an unfortunate position due to this. Fortunately his 2 buys, Bowen and Soucek have hit the ground running. Hopefully, if he can remove a few he’ll be able to buy again. Regarding ‘being a big club’, we are incredibly well supported, but NEED to win something. Chelsea were below us until Roman brought them, and then they won everything becoming a big club, although they did spend BIG. We need to win something. Why do we not target the League Cup. Mourinho and Guardiola consider it important enough to win, therefore we should. A cup is a cup.

Mikesiron they had Martial and Rashford as strikers.

Rashford had never been a number 9 for a full season before that point.

A supposedly recognised so called striker means nothing unless they score goals, we have at least one of them in Haller! It’s just a hyped up name, does it matter what you call a players position up front if they regularly score goals? Antonio was never a recognised “striker” but adapted amazingly for us thankfully, all attacking players should be capable of scoring and assisting, no excuses in the
Premiership! I would be more than happy with Rashford playing for us, as well as Martial or Lingard as he is being linked with us after ManU apparently being in for Van de Beek, making Lingard excess to requirements which I find hard to believe?

I keep saying it: if Haller has 30 PL starts, he will score at least 15.

So what is your excuse for wanting to sign Lingard? A player who punters put money on to go a whole season for Manchester United without scoring or assisting. The same player who only got a goal on the last day of the season after a howler from Kasper Schmeichel. People need to think before they post this is ludicrous stuff. Remember, 'no excuses'. Looking forward to the response from this one.

I agree Mikes

Lingard had one half decent season in 2017 - apart from that, he's been way below average quality.

I also still maintain that Haller is class - set up correctly and he'll be lethal.

Mike, ludicrous stuff in whose opinion, yours? Just a question without being controversial!

Gee I don't think it needs an argument, it's a game of opinions. I don't agree on Lingard but if on the tiny chance he did join I would love to be wrong then.

Being a West Ham fan is synonymous with being a frustrated football fan. But there isn’t a club anywhere else in the world I would rather support.

We all have an equal right to express our opinions and, sometimes they contrast quite radically, but come on lads, don’t let it deteriorate into counter-productive, internecine stuff.

COYI!

A neighbour of mine has just lost his job at GATWICK AIRPORT due to the virus and he doesn't moan half as much as some west ham fans like Ed said due to this we are in a proper recession and are going to be for a very long time so I ain't going to slag the board off as it only gives me the bollock ache but either MOYES OR SULLY didn't reckon DIANGANA was good enough and what I see of him in the premier league he looked a bit short of what is needed and doing it in the CHAMPIONSHIP always makes me very dubious of their levels of competing in the PL . COYI.
