Morning all - and what a great morning after the night before.

That was as gutsy a performance as I’ve seen from us this season. Serious shifts put in by almost everybody.

Great to see Ogbonna back and defending so well. The midfield looks so much better with Rice and Soucek as a foundation. Both did brilliantly and were heavily involved at the key moments. Bowen and Fornals ran themselves to exhaustion.

Great to see a meaningful contribution from Yarmolenko, too.

And what do you say about Antonio? To make so much of a thankless task as lone striker with a goal and a quite brilliant assist, as well as terrific hold up play. MoM for me.

Two things are now clear: Noble needs to be a bench player for the rest of the season - we cannot change the successful Rice/ Soucek combo; I have to finally concede that Lanzini is done - he is the faintest shadow of the exciting, incisive, dynamic player he was pre-injury.

Three of our last six games are against teams below us. We will survive.

Markro, complete agreement, already sung our praises in an earlier post, we were magnificent with Antonio MOM for me also, good hard working goal for himself plus a great penetrating assist ball to Yarmelenko to bury it beautifully⚽️Agree with comments on Noble, been a great motivating captain and shown great loyalty, but must accept now he’s due for bench duties only, Lanzini is finished unfortunately as you say and has been for a while, makes very little contribution in games now! Looking forward with confidence to Sunday at Newcastle, just hope if Caroll comes on he’s not intent on running about like a headless chicken for revenge on former teammates to prove a point?

Well said Markro and Chelmsford completely agree TRUE GIT Lanzini is a shadow of himself but Noble still has a future at WH but not so much as a player.

Maybe Carroll (who is well known for being a nutter) will get his marching orders.

Having said that, Newcastle have looked very good recently. I won’t panic if we don’t get anything from this game as 3 of our final 5 games are against teams below us.

I wouldn’t be so hard on Lanzini, John. What happened to him was horrendous. He must be so frustrated that he can no longer do what he used to be able to.

Moyse must be seeing something in training that isn’t translating to match day.

Best performance I've seen from lanzini in sometime. Worked hard and I can't recall him giving the ball away? I was actually pleased for him of course not at the same level pre-injury but I'd say this is a step in the right direction for him comparatively to how much he's struggled since coming back. Passing was astute hopefully we can see him start gliding past players again shown a little glimpse of it against chelsea and I'm hopeful he can build on it.

LANZINI is miles away from being the player we all thought he could be his heart isn't in west ham united its elsewhere and he doesn't want to be at WHUFC period. COYI.
